Gabe Kuhn

Gabe Kuhn came to Alfred State in the summer of 2019 to lead both the men's soccer.

Kuhn played both soccer and lacrosse growing up in Harford County, MD. He was a two-year varsity member of the lacrosse team at The John Carroll School and also played club lacrosse. He chose to continue playing soccer collegiately and was a three-year starter at Cabrini College, serving as a team captain in 2013. He was a 1st Team All-Conference honoree and 2nd Team All-ECAC as a senior. Kuhn played his sophomore year of college at Harford Community College where he was named to 1st Team All-Maryland Junior College and 1st Team All-Region, eventually making his way back to Cabrini College.

Kuhn has been an assistant soccer coach at Stevenson University since 2016. There he assisted the head coach in recruiting, practices, and games. Prior to Stevenson, he served as an assistant at McDaniel College. Other coaching experience includes serving as head varsity soccer coach at Park School of Baltimore, head varsity coach at Pikesville High School, Director of Soccer for the Starz Soccer Club, and assistant coach of the Maryland Olympic Development program and the Fallston High School.

Kuhn holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University.

Kuhn on coming to Alfred State:

"It is a dream come true to be a part of a great college with great opportunities for their students. I would like to thank Jason Doviak for this opportunity and I am ready to get to work! I would also like to thank Graeme Millar at Stevenson University, Steve Corieri at McDaniel College, and Rob Dallas at Cabrini for the support over the years. They have been great mentors for me on and off the field. I have been very lucky to have the best mentors in the game and gained valuable knowledge from each of them. Lastly, I would also like to thank my family for the support over the years. They have always supported me in the best way possible and believed that I can dream big! They are the reason I am here today."

"My goals and expectations for both programs will mirror each other in my first season. The goal in my first year is culture. I want to allow my players to learn the game, be confident, and give it one-hundred percent each practice and game. These are the keys to the success of the program moving forward."

What others are saying about Kuhn

Director of Athletics Jason Doviak "Gabe has a unique background as he is very familiar with both soccer and lacrosse. His success as an assistant coach, along with his playing experience, prepared him well to take on the role of head coach. His motivation to develop student-athletes will prepare them well to compete in the AMCC and NEAC next season."

Dr. Skip Sullivan "I appreciate the student-athlete approach that Gabe is bringing to both of these programs. It is important to bring in student-athletes that are here for the right reason as we continue to mature as members of DIII of the NCAA.
