Alyssa Finelli



Finelli enters her fifth season in 2023.


In 2022, Finelli led the Bison to their first 10 win season since 1999. The Green and White earned a PAC Tournament bid for the first time since 2004 while setting team records with the most goals in a season (55) and highest win percentage (.605). The Bison went undefeated in non-conference play (6-0-2) and had the most PAC wins during Finelli's tenure.


Her players earned 11 All-Conference Honors over the last three seasons, led by Riley Meyers who was a three time All-PAC selection.


In 2021, Finelli was selected from more than 300 applicants to be a part of the highly-esteemed 30 Under 30 Program by United Soccer Coaches. This elite program was created in 2013 to afford young coaching professionals top-level education and mentorship. Each member of the 30 Under 30 class receives an educational scholarship which provides registrations for the United Soccer Coaches Convention and an Advanced Diploma course of the coach's choosing. In addition, members of the 30 Under 30 Program are matched with a mentor dedicated to fostering their growth in the game and expanding their coaching network.

As an assistant coach at Seton Hill (2017-19), the Griffins had two of their most successful seasons as a member of the NCAA

Seton Hill finished with twelve wins and advanced to the PSAC Tournament for the first time in school history; finishing 10-0 on their home pitch

The Griffins also excelled off the field as they were named the Westmoreland YWCA's Women's Sports Team of the Year and PSAC Top Team GPA Award winner

Finelli spent one season at Arcadia University as assistant coach; helping lead the Knights to a 17-4 record and the program's first NCAA Tournament berth since 2005


Finelli was a four-year letter winner and three-year starter for the NCAA Division I Lafayette College

She made appearances in all but six games throughout her career as an attacker

She was a three-year member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

Received the Lafayette Alumni of the Lehigh Valley Outstanding Athlete Award her senior year

In high school she was a 2x Express-Times Player of the Year (2009, 2011), First Team All-State (2011), and a 3x LVC All-Star selection (2009-2011)


Graduated from Lafayette College where she earned her bachelor of arts degree in Psychology

Finelli resides in Bethany, W.Va with her husband Brad.

Frankie Taal




Frankie Taal enters his fifth as the head coach in the 2023 season


Taal led the Bison to the PAC Championship in the 2022 season for a rematch against Franciscan. Tha Bison finished the season second in the PAC after being projected to finished second in the PAC Pre-Season Polls.

The Green and White finished the 2022 season 9-6-6 (4-2-4).

Taal led the Bison to its 31st PAC Championship in the 2021 season and first in 20 years (2001). The Bison entered the PAC Tournament as the five seed and defeated two-seeded Franciscan University, 3-1.

The Bison faced John Carroll in the NCAA First Round and finished the season 10-8-1 (5-4 PAC) and won the last eight of ten matches.

Playing a conference only schedule in the spring of 2021, the Bison finished 3-4-2

The fall 2020 season was postponed to the spring of 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic

During Taal’s first year back at Bethany, the Bison registered a 3-15 overall record and went 2-6 in the conference

Upon graduation from Bethany, Taal served as an assistant coach for the men’s team for five seasons and led the women’s program for a season

While an assistant, Bethany won five PAC titles, earning five berths into the NCAA Tournament

Taal spent 16 seasons at North Carolina Wesleyan; both as an assistant and head coach

During his tenure at NC Wesleyan, the Bishops recorded a 214-93-26 record, including five regular season USA South Championships, three USA South Tournament Championships, five NCAA Tournament berths, and two NCAA Sweet 16 appearances

In 2017, Taal enjoyed his best season at the helm of the program with a 15-6 overall record

The Bishops won their second consecutive regular season league title and first conference tournament title thereby securing a bid to the NCAA tournament

In 2018 the Bishops finished with a record of 9-7-1


Taal was a two-time PAC All-Conference First Team selection

He was a critical member of the Bison’s 1994 Division III National Championship Team

Prior to Bethany, Taal attended Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY

He was a two-time team MVP and two-time All-Conference and All-Region First Team selection


Graduated from Bethany College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science (’98)
