Mike Lochstampfor

Veteran Head Coach Mike Lochstampfor begins his 22nd season as head coach of the Golden Tigers soccer program- his 32nd as a collegiate head coach.

In 2013-2014, the soccer team ascended to new heights with the best record and highest national ranking in program history. The team posted a 15-4-1 record and finishing 17th in the nation, with four players achieving All-American status.

Lochstampfor’s inaugural season at Brenau- 2002- also marked the first winning season in the program’s young history. His overall coaching career with women's collegiate soccer programs spans over twenty years. He has coached 40 All-Conference performers, 61 SSAC All-Conference Academic players and 7 NAIA All-Americans. Additionally, he recruited and coached Brenau’s all-time scoring leader and coached both the SSAC’s Offensive Player of the Year, the Golden Boot award winner and the SSAC’s Newcomer of the Year.

Lochstampfor began his coaching career at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX. During his tenure as an assistant at Midwestern State, he helped guide the team to back-to-back appearances at the NAIA National Tournament including a runner-up performance in 1991. Midwestern State was among the elite teams in the NAIA with frequent top ten national rankings prior to transitioning to NCAA Division II status.

Lochstampfor next landed at Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga. where he was instrumental in helping to start the men’s soccer program. Following his time at Reinhardt, he coached both the men’s and women’s soccer programs while serving as Director of Soccer at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Ga. At Oglethorpe, Lochstampfor coached both Oglethorpe’s male and female scoring leaders during the course of his tenure- recording a 52-49-5 record with the women’s program. The 6-year period while guiding Oglethorpe’s women’s team proved to be the most successful time in the history of the women's soccer program.

In 2009, Lochstampfor was named Athletic Director at Brenau in addition to serving as Head Soccer Coach. During his tenure as AD, the athletic department continues to grow and remains a consistent competitor on the national scene in many sports. The number of sports teams has grown to 13 with the most recent addition of Lacrosse.

Brenau athletic teams have participated in 25 NAIA National Championships over the course of the last six years. Most recently, ten teams have been ranked nationally with the tennis and softball teams both advancing to quarterfinal and semi-final rounds of their respective NAIA National Tournaments and with the swim team garnering a top three finish in both 2015 and 2016.

Lochstampfor earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from Covenant College (GA) and a Master of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Midwestern State University (TX). Lochstampfor resides in Gainesville, GA with his wife Missy and their two children, Madi and Cole.

The site was a great resource to sort colleges by my selection criteria, connect with coaches and be a repository for all of my communications. Overall, the best site that I used in my college soccer search.
