Mauricio Lozada

Mauricio Lozada is set to begin his first season as head coach of the Buena Vista University women's soccer team in the fall of 2023.


Lozada is no stranger to the region as he has spent the past two seasons as a men's assistant soccer coach at Bethany Lutheran College. He also spent five seasons as an assistant women's and men's coach at St. Olaf College (2014-2018). In 2021, the Vikings went 13-1 during conference play and captured the league's regular season title. Lozada helped coach four all-conference players, including the league's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year.


In addition to his coaching duties at the collegiate ranks, Lozada has spent nearly 10 years at the club levels during that same time. Since 2021, he has been the 11-14U Group Director for Tonka United and has also spent time with FC Boulder, Lakeville Soccer Club and Park Valley United.


Lozada earned his undergraduate degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 2013. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Sports Management from Concordia University-St. Paul.

Kelsey Resnick

Kelsey Resnick took over as head coach for the men's soccer program in December of 2022 after having served as an assistant coach with the program starting in 2021.


Resnick joined BVU from semi-pro side, Portland City Futsal Club, where he served as head coach.


Previously, Resnick spent five seasons as a volunteer assistant coach with the men’s and women’s programs at Hiram College.


In addition to coaching at the collegiate level, Resnick was head coach of the boys team at Hudson High School. In 2014, he was named Suburban League Coach of the Year after leading the Explorers to a conference championship and berth in the Elite Eight of the state tournament.


Resnick also served as a staff coach for Everest Soccer Club, helping coach boys and girls premier level teams.


A 2009 graduate of Hiram College, Resnick played four seasons for the Terriers, starting all 74 matches and serving as captain for three years. A three-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) selection, Resnick guided the Terriers to the program’s first NCAC Tournament appearance, was named Academic All-Ohio twice, and earned NSCAA / adidas Men’s Scholar All-Region (Great Lakes) honors as a senior.


Resnick earned his bachelor’s degree in Communication with minors in History and Management from Hiram College in 2009 and his law degree from the University of Akron in 2012.


Resnick and his wife, Laura, reside in Storm Lake with their two children, Luca and Francesca.

Chase Stiner

Chase Stiner joined the Buena Vista men's soccer team as assistant coach in March of 2023 after graduation in 2022 from Defiance College with a bachelor in Sports Management.


Stiner played five years and appeared in 82 games with 63 starts, breaking the school record for most appearances in school history. In his career, he tallied 10 goals and eight assists while receiving Honorable Mention honors his senior year and making the Tom Bolhson All-Conference Academic Team.


Prior to joining BVU, Chase worked with Defiance College head coach Cory Bucur where he assisted in recruiting, logistics, budgeting, and NCAA compliance, including eligibility reviews. In addition, he served as assistant club coach for Toledo Celtics U18 team.


Stiner is currently pursuing his masters in Business Administration.
