Michael Donald

In his second year as Head Coach for Coker, Donald's team brought in a record of 4-8-3 overall and 2-8-1 in South Atlantic Conference play. During the 2022-23 season Donald coached one SAC All-Conference Third Team player, Nour Noujhaim.


Michael Donald was hired as Coker University’s new head women’s soccer coach, announced on Apr. 4, 2022 by Vice President of Athletics and Athletic Facilities Dr. Lynn Griffin.


Donald comes to Coker from Nova Southeastern University, where he was an assistant coach on the men’s soccer staff for the 2021 season. During the 2021 season with Donald on staff, Nova Southeastern won the Sunshine State Conference tournament title as well as the South region championship, both firsts for the program as the program also advanced to its first NCAA tournament. Donald also helped the Sharks to program records for most wins in a single season (17), fewest losses in a single season (three) and most shutouts in a single season (nine). Donald also coached one All-American, two All-Region selections, four All-Tournament selections and helped the team to the highest men’s team GPA in the department at 3.57.


Prior to Nova Southeastern, Donald the previous two years at fellow Sunshine State Conference institution Barry University working with the women’s soccer program. He served as an assistant coach during the 2019-20 season, before serving as interim head coach for the 2020-21 season. During the 2019 season, Barry won the SSC tournament championship and landed two on the All-South region team and seven on the All-Conference teams.


Before Barry, Donald was an assistant coach for both men’s and women’s soccer at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Donald also served as the Director of Coaching at the Florida Elite Soccer Academy from 2017-19.


Before coming to the states in the coaching ranks, Donald was the head coach at the Scottish Football Association School of Soccer. He also served as the head coach of the Ayr United Football Academy from 2013-17.


He played professionally for both Stranraer FC and Ayr United FC after a collegiate playing career at Embry-Riddle.

Tony Vu

Tony Vu joined the Coker University men's and women's soccer staff in July 2022.


In his first year as the Graduate Assistant Coach for Coker Men's Soccer, Vu helped bring in a record of 6-2-9 overall and 5-0-6 in South Atlantic Conference play with a South Atlantic Conference post-season appearance against LMU. During the 2022-23 season, sophomore goalkeeper Jasper Rump possessed a 0.81 GAA (the fewest since 2013-2014), 6 shutouts (the most since 2011-2012), and the fewest goals allowed in the overall regular season (14) in program history. Vu helped coach seven SAC All-Conference players: Jasper Rump, Gustavo Palmieri, Celestin Blondel, Che Richards, Matty Tricker, Frederic Benedix, and Nikola Sotra.


During the 2022-23 Women's Soccer season, the program enjoyed its best season in 7 years with a record of 4-8-3 and being the last of three NCAA Division II teams to not concede a goal in its first 5 games. Vu guided Coker senior goalkeeper Sarah Swaim to a 1.40 GAA (the fewest since 1993-1994), 7 shutouts (the most since 1993-1994), and the fewest goals allowed in the S.A.C. regular season in program history (21). Under Vu’s tutelage her senior season, Swaim reached 3rd all-time in career shutouts (9) and 4th all-time in career saves (346) among Coker Women’s Soccer goalkeepers. Vu helped coach one SAC All-Conference Third Team player, Nour Noujhaim.


Coker Men’s Soccer finished #2 nationally among all NCAA Division II men’s soccer programs in volunteering hours, and Coker Women’s Soccer finished #3 nationally among all NCAA Division II women’s soccer programs in volunteering hours.


Vu is currently an Assistant Coach and Goalkeeper Coach with the Florida Olympic Development Program.


Vu comes to Coker from the Leg-A-Z Soccer Academy in Gainesville, Fla., where he was the Director of Goalkeeping, an Assistant Coach for the UPSL team, and helped Leg-A-Z win 4 Florida State Cup championships since 2012. Vu has also spent time with P.K. Yonge High School women's soccer and with the University of Florida club men's soccer team.


He holds a United States Soccer Federation "C" License, a Scottish Football Association Goalkeeping Coaching 1.2 Certificate, and a United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Level 3 Diploma.


Vu holds a Bachelor of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Service from the University of Florida (2017).

Sheridyn Woofter

Sheridyn Woofter is the newest addition to the women’s soccer coaching staff. Woofter comes to Coker as a 2023 graduate from Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio. Woofter received her bachelor's degree in Health and Fitness with minors in Psychology, Nutrition and English. While attending Muskingum, Woofter was a 4-year member and 3-year team captain of the Muskingum University women’s soccer team and earned many off-the-field accolades such as, Academic All-Ohio Third Team and Academic All-OAC for her performance in the classroom during the 2021 season, and a repeat winner for Academic All OAC as well as Academic All-Ohio Second Team for her academic performances during the 2022 season. With a natural passion and love for soccer, Woofter has been playing the sport since she was 4-years-old and has been seen as a leader by her former teammates, she hopes to bring energy, knowledge and relatability to the team as she enters her first year of being on the other side of the action.
