Rebecca Quimby

Rebecca Quimby, formerly Rebecca O'Shurak, became the seventh head coach in the history of the Concordia women's soccer program in the spring of 2018.


Quimby, who is the first female head coach in the history of women's soccer at Concordia, came to Concordia after serving as an assistant coach at Youngtown State (Ohio) for the 2017 season. Before her time on the bench with the Penguins, Quimby was an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech University from 2014-17.


Quimby brings a diverse background to her first head coaching position. When she was at Youngstown State she helped with recruiting student/athletes as well as designing and implementing team training sessions. She was also the team’s goalkeeper coach and was in charge of overseeing all aspects of the development of the team’s goalies.


While at Tennessee Tech, Quimby was responsible training and coaching the team’s goalkeepers. She also handled the team's video editing, database entry and other electronic and social network items.


Before her stint at Tennessee Tech, Quimby served as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s soccer programs at NCAA Division III Thomas More College (Ky.). She spent two years with Thomas More and during that time she helped the men’s and women’s teams win the regular season and conference tournament championships in back-to-back seasons. While Quimby was at Thomas More the women’s team went unbeaten in conference play as they posted an impressive 18-0 mark.


Quimby started her coaching career at Allegheny College (Pa.) in 2007 and was a media/recruiting assistant for four seasons. After her time at Allegheny she moved to Earlham College where she created a recruiting database to help aid the recruiting process of potential student-athletes, and designed and implemented position specific training sessions for goalkeepers.


Quimby earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from Allegheny College in 2011. She played in all four seasons for the Gators and helped the team earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament in her senior season in 2010 when Allegheny went 14-3-4 . During her four years at Allegheny, Quimby posted a career goals against average of 1.27. During her time at Allegheny, Quimby also served as a media/recruiting assistant for the women’s soccer program as well as an athletic communications intern.


Quimby went on to earn a master’s degree in exercise science, physical health and wellness from Tenessee Tech.


Quimby lives in Barnesville with her wife Chelsea.

Jon Hedin

Jon Hedin was hired as the full-time head coach of the Cobber men's soccer program in the winter of 2023, after serving as the interim head coach for the 2022 season.


Hedin has been a mainstay with the program for the past 12 years. He was the top assistant coach for the team for six of the past eight seasons before being named interim head coach. In addition to his coaching tenuer with the Cobbers, Hedin played for Concordia during his college days from 2007-11.


Hedin has also been a prominent figure in the Fargo-Moorhead club soccer scene where he has been a head coach for the Tri-City organization since his college playing days.


Hedin, originally from Andover, Minn., graduated from Concordia in 2011 while majoring in biology.


Hedin and his wife Mary-Michael, also a Concordia graduate, live in Fargo with their daughter Alanna.
