James Moore

Coach Moore is entering his 19th year at the helm of the Georgian Court University women's soccer program in 2023. Under his leadership, the Lions have emerged as a perennial power in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.


With 190 career wins, Moore ranks as the all-time winningest coach in CACC women’s soccer history. He also ranks among the Top-40 in career wins among all active NCAA Division II women’s soccer coaches. A three time CACC Coach of the Year, he has six regular season and three post season championships to his credit.


Moore has coached and developed five All Americans, 30 players who were named to an All Region team and over 50 all conference players during his tenure at Georgian Court.


Moore was selected to the NCAA D2 National Women’s soccer committee in 2016 and unanimously elected to the National Chair position in 2018 serving in that role until 2020. During his time as the Chair he oversaw the NCAA Tournament selection process, the regional rankings and the Final Four weekend among other duties required by the position.


Serving as the NCAA East Region’s Chair of the Regional Advisory Committee, the CACC representative to the NCAA National Coaches Connection and Chairing the CACC coaches committee are other positions Coach Moore currently holds.


Along with coaching at Georgian Court, Moore was named the Director of Coaching for New Jersey Rush in June 2020 and is a senior staff member and Director of Goalkeeping at Toms River FC where he trains various youth teams along with developing the organizations goaltenders. He won the 2015 US Club soccer New Jersey State Championship with the TRFC Everton team. He was also the recipient of the GCU student services “Outstanding Service” award for the 2008/2009 academic year.


Before coming to Georgian Court, Moore served as an assistant coach at Bryant University for six seasons. While at Bryant, Moore played a crucial role in turning around a Bulldog program which had not posted a winning season since 1993, helping the team earn its first national ranking and first NCAA Tournament bid in 2001. Bryant won 48 games in four seasons from 2001 to 2004 while Moore was on the staff.


A 1996 graduate of Providence College, Moore made his first foray into coaching soon after, obtaining an assistant women’s coaching position at his alma mater in 1998. While at Providence, Moore served as a student assistant on the 1993 team that won the Big East Championship and went to the Sweet 16 in the National Tournament.


Moore has earned both a National and Advanced National License from the NSCAA and has been a member of that organization since 1993.


Originally from Melville, NY, Moore and his wife, Kate, currently reside in Burlington, New Jersey with their daughter, Meghan, son, Patrick, and daughter, Bridget.

Farrell Pomponio-Strout

Farrell Pomponio-Strout began her first season as Georgian Court University women’s soccer team assistant coach in 2021-22 and enters her third season as assistant coach in 2023, but GCU is hardly unfamiliar territory. As a former Lion herself, Farrell has returned to the very pitch she played on to assist her former head coach, James Moore, on the sidelines. Farrell has been involved in coaching from a young age. Before bringing her knowledge and passion for the game to the college level, she has worked with multiple clubs across New Jersey as a head trainer and coach.


Farrell brings with her a vast understanding of the game, not just as a successful coach, but as a player on both the collegiate and post-collegiate level. She played in the WPSL semi-professional league before advancing to the UWS pro-am league where she currently plays for NJ Copa FC. Farrell has also played professional futsal.


This past February, Farrell was chosen for the U.S. Select team while earning an appearance vs. the Argentinian National Team. As a former high-level collegiate student-athlete, Farrell brings a relatability to the current Georgian Court squad.


Farrell, a starter since her freshman season, led the the Lions to the 2009 CACC regular-season title and earned selection to the CACC All-Tournament team for her stellar play. She went on to achieve team MVP honors in 2011, complementing her All-CACC First Team accolade that year. She also received All-CACC Honorable Mention the following campaign.


Knowing what it’s like to overcome adversity as an athlete is an additional attribute Farrell brings as a member of the coaching staff. During her college playing career, she suffered a spine injury which led to two surgeries. Although it took tremendous dedication and commitment, she worked her way back to playing the sport she loves. Her final season was 2014, earning a degree in psychology and art in the spring of 2015.

Dino Raso

Coach Raso enters his 12th season and 11th year with Georgian Court in 2023 after being tabbed as the Lions first-ever Men’s Soccer Head Coach on August 15, 2012.


In his first 10 seasons, Raso and the Lions have collected a record of 77-79-17 with six trips to the CACC postseason, two appearances in the finals and one CACC Championship.


Just four years into the program, Raso led the Lions to their first ever Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship finishing the season 13-5-2.


On the back of a 10-match winning streak, Georgian Court saw themselves ranked for the first time in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) NCAA Division II poll, climbing as high as No. 17 in the country in 2018. During the winning streak, the Lions defeated a pair of top-20 teams in No. 13 Adelphi and No. 16 West Chester.


GCU again saw themselves in the national rankings in 2021 following a 12-match unbeaten streak to start the season, rising to No. 21 in Division II.


Since the start of the program, Georgian Court has earned 16 All-CACC selections led by Michael Clarke’s three from 2014-16. The Lions have also boasted the league’s Player of the Year in Louis Silva in 2021 with Clarke and Silva each picking up an All-American award during their careers. At the regional level, Georgian Court has seen 10 All-Region players with Silva named the East Region Player of the Year in 2021.


Georgian Court has had a winning record in four of the last seven seasons and has qualified for the CACC postseason in six of the last seven seasons winning it in 2016 and advancing to the finals in 2019.


In the classroom, Raso has led an equally strong program with six Academic All-Region selections and an Academic All-American in Quentin Bouly in 2018. The Lions have put 76 on the CACC All-Academic Team and has earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award with a 3.0 team GPA in each year of the program.


Raso has seen the Lions Soccer Program grow exponentially during his time here. What started as a team of 26 in 2013 has grown to more than 60 with Georgian Court playing varsity games and a development squad schedule.


Coach Raso joined the GCU family after serving two seasons as the head coach of Oakland City University in Oakland City, Indiana. Raso earned 2011 NCCAA Mid-East Region Coach of the Year after leading the Oaks to an 11-6-3 record and a fifth-place finish at the NCCAA National Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida.


Prior to his tenure at Oakland City University, Raso served as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Eastern Illinois University, from June of 2005 to August of 2010, where he played a vital role in leading the Panthers to four straight appearances in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.


Raso’s first collegiate coaching experience came at NCAA Division II Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla. where he served as a graduate assistant coach for three seasons, compiling a 40-13-4 record, two Sunshine State Conference crowns, and two berths in the NCAA Division II National Tournament.


Many of Raso's former players have gone on to play professionally. Most recently, Daniel Chochlinski signed to play in Poland, Louis Silvia in Iceland, Danny Vicente and Jonathan Firmino in the USA. Joel Quist has also finished a professional stint with the USL One.


Coach Raso earned Master’s Degrees in Sports Management (2003) and Higher Education Administration (2005) during his time at Barry. Along with his coaching duties, he also worked in the athletics compliance office, Career and Counseling Center and Recreation and Wellness Center.


A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Raso played his collegiate soccer at Eastern Illinois University before playing 14 seasons in the Hamilton Premier Division, the highest level of play in Ontario. He was also an amateur coach in Ontario from 1995-2000, compiling a 75-9-2 record, before returning to the US in 2002.


He holds a USSF “A” License, a USSF National Youth License and a NSCAA Level 1 Goalkeepers License.


Raso and his wife, Kathryn, have three daughters, Michaela, Giuliana and Mia and a son, Giuseppe, and grandson Jayden.

Robbie Fitzpatrick

2023 will mark Robbie Fitzpatrick's 11th season as Assistant Coach of the Georgian Court University men's soccer team. Coach Fitzpatrick has been with the Lions since their inaugural season in 2013.


"Coach Fitzpatrick has been an integral part of creating and maintaining the winning culture within this program," stated head coach Dino Raso. "He has has proven to be an invaluable asset in everything we do as a program, we are very blessed to have him."


Robbie played for Colaiste Ide in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland before coming to the United States to compete for Felician University of the CACC. In 2006, after graduating with a double major in Fine Arts and Graphic Design, Robbie began his coaching career immediately with local youth soccer clubs in Northern New Jersey.


Fitzpatrick earned his Level One Coaching Qualification for the Football Association of Ireland, where he also spent time working for the association. He has extensive experience in goalkeeper training and worked in the past with Declan McIntyre, previous head goalkeeping coach for the Irish National team.

Elliot Baldwin

Elliot Baldwin heads into his sixth season in 2023 as an assistant coach for Georgian Court Men's Soccer. Elliot graduated from Georgian Court in 2017 after leading the Lions to the 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) championship.


Prior to his return to GCU, Elliot served as a graduate assistant for both the men's and women's soccer programs at Wilkes University. Elliot also served as a coach with the New York Red Bulls training programs, which included the program's community coaching and other youth and showcase teams.


"I am honored that Elliot was able to join our staff last year. He brings fresh experiences and a skill set in exercise science that is prominent in todays student athletes' colligate career," stated Head Coach Dino Raso. "It was a pleasure to have coached him and it is just as equally a pleasure to collaborate with him now on the coaching staff. Elliot has a promising future in our industry."
