Zena Tracey

Former Immaculata standout Zena Tracey completed her fifth season as head women's soccer coach in 2020-21 and holds a record of 29-44-6 with four straight postseason appearances.


Tracey served as an assistant coach for the Mighty Macs the previous four seasons before being promoted to head coach, gaining valuable insight that will help her lead the team to success in the coming years. Tracey also serves as the Director of Student Life on campus.


In Coach Tracey’s fifth season as the head women’s soccer coach, she led her team to a 2-1-1 record. The Mighty Macs kicked the season off with a 2-1 victory over Wesley College. They then went on to tie against Cabrini before finishing the season with a split home-and-home series against Marywood.


The Mighty Macs went 8-11-1 in 2019 as the eight wins was the most in one year under Tracey and the most wins since the Macs won eight games in 2010. Immaculata led the Atlantic East with 99 points, leading the league with 21 assists and finishing second with 39 goals. Following the season, four different players garnered Second Team All-Atlantic East Honors. Riley Rudd, Eleana Kriebel, Carly Quigley and Brooke Shissler each collected the honors under Tracey. Shissler led the Atlantic East with 131 saves while Rudd finished third in the league with seven assists. Off the field, Immaculata women's soccer earned the Atlantic East Fall Team Academic Award for the second consecutive year as the team maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.58.


Tracey guided the Mighty Macs to their first conference championship game appearance in eight years in the program's first season in the Atlantic East Conference in 2018. As the No. 6 seed, the Mighty Macs defeated No. 3 Neumann, 3-2, in double overtime on the road, and then took out top-seeded Cabrini, 3-0, to reach the Atlantic East Championship game. The Macs fell in a hard-fought game, 1-0, to No. 4 Marywood. Overall, the Macs went 6-11-2 with a 1-3-2 record in the Atlantic East. Tracey guided junior Carly Quigley to the Atlantic East Defensive Player of the Year award and First Team All-Atlantic East honor, senior Carrie Quigley to First Team All-Atlantic East, and sophomore Riley Rudd to Second Team All-Atlantic East.


In her first season, Tracey guided the Mighty Macs to a 7-11 record overall, and 7-4 in CSAC play, which is the best record for any Mighty Mac women's soccer team in conference. The Mighty Macs earned the No. 4 seed in the CSAC postseason which gave them their first home playoff game in program history. The Mighty Macs fell in the CSAC Quarterfinals, 2-0, to No. 5 Gwynedd Mercy, but it was the squad's first appearance in the postseason since the 2013 season.


Tracey helped Maddie Bescript become the first Rookie of the Year in team history, and the first Mighty Mac to be named First Team All-CSAC since 2010. She also mentored sophomore Carrie Quigley to a Second Team All-CSAC recognition and senior Carly Mirarchi to her second straight Honorable Mention All-CSAC nod. Additionally, 19 Mighty Macs were named to the CSAC Fall All-Academic Team.


In her second season, the Macs went 6-9-2 with a 6-5 record in the CSAC, which led to a CSAC Quarterfinal appearance, the team’s second in a row. The Mighty Macs were the No. 6 seed and fell in a hard fought game to Cabrini, 4-3. Tracey guided freshman Carley Peacher to a record setting season with 18 goals and 37 points, both freshman scoring records. Maddie Bescript was named First Team All-CSAC for the second straight year, freshman Riley Rudd earned Second Team All-CSAC, and Peacher was named Honorable Mention All-CSAC.


Tracey joined the coaching staff after a successful playing career with the Mighty Macs. Tracey was a two-time second-team All-CSAC selection in 2008 and 2009. She served as team captain her senior season, and helped Immaculata reach the CSAC playoffs during her first three seasons, including the CSAC Championship Game in 2010. During her senior season in 2011, she was named to the CSAC Honorable Mention squad while also earning the CSAC Sportsmanship Award.


Tracey ranks second at Immaculata in career points (66), second in career goals (24), and is the Mighty Macs all-time leader in assists (18).


Off the field, Tracey was named to the CSAC Fall All-Academic Team all four seasons. She also was a three-year member of the Immaculata Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC).


Tracey earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science Pre-Physical Therapy in May 2012, and received her master's degree in Counseling Psychology at Immaculata in May 2015. She is currently the Director of Student Activities here on campus.


Tracey has also served as a coach/mentor for the youth soccer programs at YSC since 2011 developing training sessions for children ages three to 14.
