Mike Dibbini enters his eighth season at the helm of K-State women’s soccer in the 2023 season and his 18th season overall as a collegiate head coach. Dibbini’s career record stands at 297-152-46 (.646) and owns a 32-74-15 (.326) with K-State.


In just seven seasons at the helm of the Wildcat program, Dibbini has recorded a MAC Hermann Trophy candidate, a Senior CLASS Award All-American, a CoSIDA Academic All-American, a United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection, five All-Big 12 recipients and 85 Academic All-Big 12 honorees.


K-State broke through and reached the program's first Big 12 Soccer Championship during his seventh season in 2022. The Wildcats tied the school record for wins in a season and finished with an overall record of 6-10-3 and a Big 12 mark of 2-5-2 and finished eighth in the league's standings. The Wildcats tied the school record for road wins in a season (three) and collected two wins over NCAA RPI top-100 opponents - Yale (63) and Oklahoma (86).


Defensively, K-State allowed 238 total shots which were the fewest in an 18-game season in program history. K-State allowed the lowest shot per game total, 12.5, in the program’s seven-season history. The Wildcats lowered their opponent shots per game average from 2021 by 1.6 shots (14.1 to 12.5).


The Wildcats also set the school record for the fewest shots on goal per game allowed (5.5), while Wildcat goalkeepers allowed 24 goals in 2022, the tied for the second-fewest goals allowed in a season since K-State played a full 18-match schedule in 2017. K-State tied for the second-most shutouts in a season with five. The Wildcats set the school record for scoreless halves in a season with 22.


In the classroom in the 2022 season, K-State placed a school record six on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District VII team and collected 16 Academic All-Big 12 recipients.


In the sixth season in Manhattan in 2021, Dibbini led a squad that established new school records for goals (20), goals per game (1.11), assists (20), total points (60) and total points per game (3.33). The Wildcats tied the school record for wins in a season (6), while collecting five points in Big 12 action with an overtime win at Kansas and a pair of home draws against ranked foes, ninth-ranked West Virginia and 23rd-ranked Baylor.


K-State finished the 2021 season with Brookelynn Entz earning CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team honors and an All-Big 12 Second Team citation. In the classroom, the Wildcats were decorated with 10 Academic All-Big 12 First Team recipients.


In his fifth season at K-State, the 2020 campaign was divided among the fall and spring. The Wildcats played its Big 12 slate in the fall and recorded a program-best 3-6-0 mark in league action and a program-high seventh-place finish.


During the 2020 season, the K-State program achieved a pair of program milestones. K-State’s saw its first international professional signee, as defender Silke Bonnen signed a contract with HB Koge in the Danish League.


After Bonnen’s signing, K-State’s Brookelynn Entz became the first Wildcat to be drafted into the NWSL as she was selected by Kansas City NWSL in the fourth round of the 2021 NWSL Draft. Entz, a 2020 All-Big 12 First Team selection, was the program’s first MAC Hermann Trophy candidate and was named to the 2020-21 United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Third Team.


During the fourth season of action for K-State soccer, the Wildcats tallied a record of 3-13-2, but set several program highs including: total shots and total shots per game in a season with 276 and 15.3 per game, set the school record for corner kicks in a season and corner kicks per game with 95 and 5.28, respectively, tied the school records for goals scored in Big 12 matches (6) and assists in Big 12 matches (4). K-State also finished with the second-highest assist total in program history with 12 and the second-highest total of players with an assist in a season with nine. Kansas State also notched the second-highest total shots on goal (106) and total shots on goal per game (5.89) in program history.


At the conclusion of the season, Entz garnered All-Big 12 Second Team honors from the league’s coaches.


In the classroom in 2020, K-State placed 15 student-athletes on the Academic All-Big 12 teams, including 14 on the first team. The Wildcats also recorded their first Senior CLASS Award All-America selection (Entz) and United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women Scholar All-West Region recipient (Entz).

In the program’s third season in 2018, K-State registered a 4-12-2 record. The Wildcats secured the first three-match winning streak to open a season. As a result of the winning streak, K-State received votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll for the first time in program history.


In 2017, Dibbini guided the Wildcats through its first official Big 12 season and staked K-State to a program record 6-11-1 overall mark and a 1-8-0 record in Big 12 play.


K-State had its first postseason league honor, as Hannah Davis was named to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team. The Wildcats were also successful in the classroom, as 10 student-athletes were named to the Academic All-Big 12 teams.


In the program’s first season in 2016, Dibbini led the Wildcats to a 4-9-3 overall record. K-State secured the first win in program history and Dibbini’s first NCAA Division I win at Oakland on Aug. 26, 2016.


At the conclusion of the first season, three Wildcats were named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team - Kim Braddock, Miranda Larkin and Addie Jenkins.


Dibbini was hired in December of 2014 as Kansas State’s first intercollegiate women’s soccer coach and guided the program through the year and a half process of forming a program from the ground up.


Prior to becoming the inaugural head coach at K-State, Dibbini built winning programs and successful student-athletes at the NCAA Division II and NAIA levels. He is a 12-time conference coach of the year who led Kansas Wesleyan and Cal Poly Pomona to 13 postseason tournament appearances and an overall career winning percentage of .750 as a collegiate head coach (265-78-25). Dibbini coached eight years at KWU leading both the men’s and women’s programs before moving to Pomona in 2013.


In just his second year at Cal Poly Pomona in 2014, Dibbini directed the Broncos to their best season in 15 years with a 15-6-1 record and a No. 16 national ranking, the second-highest in program history. Cal Poly Pomona advanced to the Division II West Region title game in the third round of the NCAA Tournament and produced six all-conference performers including the school’s fourth-ever All-American.


Charged with the task of rebuilding the Bronco program when hired in 2013, Dibbini’s first team posted a 6-7-5 record. Cal Poly Pomona made tremendous strides in year two not only on the playing field but in the classroom as well. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recognized the efforts of the Broncos with a pair of Team Academic Awards for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 academic years.


At Kansas Wesleyan, Dibbini served as the Director of Soccer Programs from 2005-12 for both the men’s and women’s teams. Combined, he amassed a record of 244-65-25 (.768) and in conference play, his teams went 133-7-4 (.938) while capturing 12 regular-season titles and 12 tournament titles.


The Kansas Wesleyan women’s team posted a record of 126-30-14 under Dibbini and, in 2012, the Coyotes were 20-2 overall en route to capturing the league’s regular-season and tournament titles and Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Coach of the Year and Regional Coach of the Year recognition for Dibbini.


Dibbini also helped KWU secure a berth in the 2012 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round, where Kansas Wesleyan defeated Benedictine to advance to the NAIA National Championship Final site in Orange Beach, Ala. It marked the second time in the Opening Round era that the Coyotes had reached the Final Site, the first in 2008.


The KWU women’s squad won three-straight regular season championships in 2006, 2007 and 2008 while going undefeated during that span, and won four-consecutive conference tournament championships in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 before adding another in 2010.


The Kansas Wesleyan men’s soccer team finished the 2012 season with a 16-3-2 record overall, winning both the KCAC regular season and tournament championships for a third-straight season and advancing to the NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round for a third-consecutive year. Dibbini earned his sixth KCAC Coach of the Year accolade in 2012 and through his eight seasons, the men’s team went 118-36-11 overall.


Prior to coaching at KWU, Dibbini was the Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer Coach at Salina Central High School in Salina, Kansas, from 1999 through 2006 and also helped develop the Salina Soccer Academy youth program. In 2006, he was named the AVCTL Division I Coach of the Year. In 1999, he received the Kansas State Youth Soccer Boys Coach of the Year award. During his time with the Salina Soccer Academy, Dibbini coached eventual 2019 USWNT goalkeeper, Women’s World Cup champion and NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year Adrianna Franch.


He holds an NSCAA Premier Coaching Diploma and USSF National Coaching License.


Dibbini graduated Cum Laude from Kansas Wesleyan University in 1999 with a degree in Elementary Education, and continued on to earn a Master of Business Administration in 2002.


As a student-athlete with two years at KWU and two at Bethany Lutheran (Minn.), Dibbini became a four-time All-Conference, All-Region and All-American selection. In 1997, Dibbini was ranked No. 2 in the NAIA for goals and points while also earning NAIA Academic All-Region and National Small College Player of the Year honors.


Originally from Palmdale, Calif., Dibbini was a two-time All-CIF First Team and Golden League Player of the Year honoree while at Palmdale High School. His high school career featured a CIF Player of the Year selection as well.


Dibbini and his wife Trina, also a Kansas Wesleyan graduate and Baldwin City, Kansas, native, have two children, Jada and Kadin.
