Abby Shiffler

Abby Shiffler enters her 12th season as the head coach of the Ramapo College women's soccer team.


The Roadrunners have had 26 players named to the NJAC All-Conference team during Shiffler’s tenure including four-time all-conference midfielder Autumn Herring. Under coach Shiffler’s direction, the team has made appearances in the 2013 & 2021 NJAC Tournaments and the 2015 ECAC Tournament.


Shiffler began her coaching career with Fairleigh Dickinson University as an assistant coach for the 2007 season, before joining the staff at Caldwell College in 2008. Shiffler spent 2009 training the goalkeepers at the University of Pennsylvania, and most served as an assistant coach for the University of Massachusetts during the 2010 season.


Shiffler was a four-year starter in goal for Monmouth University from 2001-2004. She recorded 280 career saves, which still ranks third on the program's all-time list. Shiffler earned All-Northeast Conference Second Team honors as a freshman while receiving the team's Rookie of the Year award. In 2002, Shiffler helped the Hawks advance to the final of the NEC Tournament, and as a junior, she ranked second in the conference in both goals-against average and save percentage.


She is a 2005 graduate of Monmouth University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science. Shiffler resides in West Milford, NJ.

DJ Pinton

Coach DJ Pinton enters his 20th season as head coach of the Ramapo College Men’s Soccer team. In his 19 years as the head coach he has compiled a 179-121-41 overall record. Coach Pinton also played for the program for three years (1995-1998) after transferring in from Sacred Heart University. He served as an assistant to the program for four years (2000-2003) before taking over the reins at the start of the 2004 season.


The Roadrunners won the 2020-2021 NJAC Tournament Championship with a perfect 3-0 record in the tournament including a 1-0 shutout victory over Montclair State on the road. This was the first NJAC Title in program history. Ramapo earned their third straight NJAC Tournament appearance under Coach Pinton. The Roadrunners earned a #7 ranking in the final United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll. Seven Roadrunners were named to the NJAC All-Conference team. Pinton was honored by his peers in being named NJAC Coach of the Year for the second time in his tenure. Joshua Schaffer was name NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year while Mark Buckel was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Year. Thiago Stallhbaum, Damian Zurawski, Schaffer and Buckel were all named NJAC First Team All-Conference. Jonathan Junqueira, Massimo Gallorini and Ederson La Torre were all named NJAC Second Team All-Conference.


A three-year member of the Roadrunner men’s soccer team, Pinton left his mark as one of the top players in program history. In his first year with the program the team reached its first ever post-season berth qualifying for the ECAC Tournament, falling short in the semi-finals. In his second season he helped guide the men’s soccer team to a 16-5-1 record and the programs first ever post-season championship winning the ECAC title. That same year, Pinton received the first of his consecutive First Team All-New Jersey Athletic Conference honors, and was named the 1997 Ramapo College Athlete of the Year. In his final season as a Roadrunner, Pinton helped lead the team to its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance and collected Mid-Atlantic Regional All-American honors on top of his all-conference and all-state honors. In 2006 he was inducted into the Ramapo College Athletic Hall of Fame for his tremendous contributions on the soccer field.


Coach Pinton also spent time overseas training with Italian professional club A.C. Arezzo under then Head Coach Serse Cosmi. In his spare time, he is also involved with youth soccer serving as the Director of the Cosmos Soccer Camps and has coached several club teams.
