James Greenslit

James Greenslit enters his seventh season as Head Coach of the Roger Williams University Men’s Soccer program.

The Hawks finished the Fall 2021 regular season as co-champions of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and advanced to the semi-finals of the CCC tournament. The squad also earned significant accolades after their successful season, as reflected by the United Soccer Coaches naming one student-athlete as an All-American, and two as All-Region student-athletes. Also, there were six Hawks named as All-CCC players, including three named to the 1st team one named CCC Offensive Player of the Year. Furthermore, nine of the student-athletes on the Fall 2021 team were named academic All-CCC players, a distinction that both Greenslit and the team place significant weight.

In addition to their accomplishments on the soccer field, Greenslit emphasizes the importance of the student-athletes’ overall roles within the Roger Williams community. Whether it is meeting the team’s goal of completing 250 volunteer hours during the school year, actively contributing toward their partnership with the Team Impact non-profit organization, or encouraging players to challenge themselves in the classroom, Greenslit personally values the opportunities Division 3 athletics offer student-athletes. He prioritizes recruiting contributors on the soccer field who also value teamwork and developing into valuable members of their communities off of the field.

Greenslit graduated from Wheaton (Mass.) in 2006 with a degree in economics. He is the only three-time All-American in Wheaton College men's soccer history, being named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference first teams every year during that stretch.
