Steve Hamilton

Head Coach Steve Hamilton just finished his eighth season at the helm of the Patriots women’s soccer program. Coach Hamilton has guided the Patriots to a 109-40-13 (46-0-11 Mid- South Conference) record, including a 9-7-0 mark in Mid-South Conference Tournament Play.


The Patriots appeared in their fourth straight NAIA tournament, and for the third straight year the team made it to the NAIA Final Site. The Season was capped off by a Quarterfinal win that sent UC to the Semifinals for the first time in Program history. During the 2022 season, the Patriots faced 17 ranked opponents and finished with a 12-2-3 overall record. For the first time in program history, US finished the season ranked in the NAIA top-3. The 2022 season was one to be remembered, as the Patriots went undefeated in 18 straight matches and held a 9-0-1 conference play record to secure the Regular Season Conference Title. Hamilton had two All-Americans on the season, Laura Navajas and Selena Barnett, each of them earned third team honors. He also had seven players earn MSC awards, with four first team, one second team, two honorable mentions and a freshman of the year in Carola Fontan. Hamilton also secured his second MSC Coach of the Year award.


Hamilton led multiple Patriots into record breaking seasons. Navajas broke the programs assist record, and now has the most of all time with 42. Jayden Boelter, a First Team All-Conference recipient now holds third place in two offensive categories, with 20 single season goals and 51 in her career.


During the 2021 season, The Patriots' appeared in their third straight NAIA tournament, and for the second straight year the team made it to the NAIA Final Site. For the second time in school history, UC finished the season ranked in the NAIA top-10. The 2021 women's soccer team made their mark, as they secured the most shutouts (15) in program history. The Patriots' were also second in assists (62), tied for second in wins (16), third in points (162), and fourth in goals scored (60). Hamilton had one All-American on the season, Jayden Boelter, who earned honorable mention honors. Boelter also earned Mid-South First Team All-Conference, and tied for third in program history scoring 18 goals in the 2021 season.


In the 2021 season, Cumberlands had one of their most successful seasons in program history. The Patriots won the program's first MSC Title, earning the MSC Tournament Champions. The team made it to the NAIA Final Site Quarterfinals for the first time after going 2-0-0 at the Williamsburg Bracket Opening Site. UC outscored opponents 70-17 and posted a program best of 12 shutouts. Before this season no player had earned higher than NAIA All-American Honorable Mention status, but under the guidance of Coach Hamilton, both Laura Navajas Marin (Second Team) and Shara Randez (Third Team) earned a spot on the All-American Teams along with Selena Barnett, Jayden Boelter and Ainhoa Camara getting Honorable Mention.


Hamilton earned his first National Tournament win in 2019 with a 3-1 victory over Tennessee Wesleyan on Friday, November 22 in the Lakeland Bracket of the NAIA Opening Round.


Hamilton has had 22 players garner First Team All-Conference honors, 28 players receive Second Team All-Conference recognition, and 10 players to earn All-American Honors; the only players to earn national recognition in program history. In 2017, Shara Randez became the first Patriot player in program history to be named the MSC Freshman of the Year. In addition to his success on the field, the Patriots have had 40 players named NAIA Daktronics All-Americans.


Prior to UC, Hamilton spent eight seasons as the Head Coach of Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA. He was recognized as the Coach of the Year in 2007. He also coached ENC to its first-ever home conference (TCCC) playoff win in 2011, its first ECAC Tournament in school history in 2013, and its first-ever home conference playoff semifinal game in 2014. Previously, Coach Hamilton was at Genesee Community College in Batavia, NY where he went 20-16 in two seasons.


Hamilton began his career as a soccer player as well as a track and field athlete at Roberts Wesleyan College from 1996-1999. He graduated in 1999 with a degree in Education and Psychology. After graduating, he continued his playing career as a member of the United Soccer League (USL), playing for Frazier Valley in 2001.


Hamilton earned Advanced National and Premier Diplomas (2006-2011) and earned a World Football Academy Periodization Diploma in 2014. He also earned a Masters of Science in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine from California University of Pennsylvania.


During his previous two coaching stints, he has coached 38 All-Conference players and one All-Region player.

Quentin Boric

Quentin Boric completed his third season for the Patriots in 2022. Since being added to the Patriots’ staff, Boric has contributed to three NAIA Tournament appearances, each of which led UC to the NAIA Final Site. In his most recent season, he helped UC advance to the Semi-Final round of the NAIA Tournament for the first time in program history. As the goalkeeper’s coach, Boric helped lead the team to 12 shutouts and his goalies finished the season with a GA% of 0.81. The Patriots competed against top-notch teams and finished the season with the second-best MRPI. They also capped off the year with a No. 3 ranking, the highest in program history.


During the 2021 season, Boric helped make program history by securing first place in shutouts (15). The Patriots' faced 14 ranked opponents during the season and finished the year with an overall record of 16-6-2. For only the second time in program history, UC finished the season ranked top-10.


In 2020, Boric was elevated from Graduate Assistant to Assistant Coach. Boric was instrumental in the program's most successful team to date. UC had a record of 18-2 and reached the NAIA Quarterfinals for the first time in program history. The team also took home their first-ever MSC Championship, winning the MSC Tournament. Boric works with the goalkeepers and helped Laura Vogt earn Second Team MSC and 12 shutouts.


Quentin Boric comes to Cumberlands after recently graduating from Bridgewater College, where he was a three-year starter for their Men’s Soccer program. Boric amassed nearly 200 career saves, eight shutouts, and an impressive .818 save percentage as a goalie.


Set to begin his coaching career at Cumberlands, Boric states, "I am thrilled to join the Women's Soccer coaching staff alongside Coach Hamilton. It will be exciting to learn from a coach that has so much knowledge and experience to offer. The opportunity for me is a blessing. I expect this season to be very special for many reasons."


Boric is currently pursuing his MBA at Cumberlands.

Chris LeFevre

Chris LeFevre finished his sventh season as Head Coach of the University of the Cumberlands Men’s Soccer program in 2022. LeFevre, who was hired in 2016, has guided the Patriots to a 56-42-16 (32-15-4 Mid-South Conference) record over the course of his six seasons at UC.


This past season, UC made their third straight NAIA Postseason Appearance wih a season record of 11-6-3. Cumberlands finished the MSC season with a record of 8-2-1 to finish third in the conference. The team made it to the MSC Championship game for the second straight year, earning their automatic bid to the NAIA Tournament. The team had seven players earn MSC All-Conference honors with one on First Team, four on Second Team, and a pair with Honorable Mention. Joel Drewery was the lone Patriot on First Team, leading UC in assists with 13 this season which also ranked him fifth in the NAIA. Drewery leaves the UC men's soccer program as one of the most decorated earning the first ever five-time MSC All-Conference honoree, the all-time assist leader (44) and the all-time caps leader (92).


For the 2021 season, season the Patriots won the Mid-South Conference Tournament for the first time since 1996. The team then went to their second NAIA Tournament in two seasons and recorded their first NAIA Tournament win in program history defeating Bethel (IN) 6-0. LeFevre helped lead his team out of the Fort Wayne Bracket and to the NAIA Final Site. The team made it to the quaterfinals defeating Indiana Tech (2-0) and Lindsey Wilson (3-2) along the way. For the season LeFevre's squad went 14-6-2 overall with a 8-2-1 conference record.


The 2020 team set the standard for UC men's soccer with finishing the season as the highest ranked team in program history at #6. UC had nine shutouts, ranking them seventh in the NAIA. On the offensive end the team tallied 48 assists for eighth most in the nation.They also racked up 50 goals for 13th most in the NAIA. UC held opponents to just 16 goals against all year and the Patriots never lost a game by more than one goal. Two Patriots earned First-Team All-Conference recognition four players nabbed Second-Team All-Conference honors, and two student-athletes garnered honorable mentions. This is the most UC has on the All-Conference list since 2008-09 when 13 were named.


In 2019, LeFevre led the men's soccer program to the NAIA Tournament for the first time in history. At the helm, he led the Patriots to the most single-season wins since 2015, finishing with an overall record of 10-7-2. He finished the year ranked in the NAIA across three statistical categories, including 25th for total shutouts with eight.


Under LeFevre, the Patriots have made the Mid-South Conference Tournament every year as the fourth seed or better, peaking as #3 in 2019 and 2020. In 2016, LeFevre won his first MSC Tournament match with a 1-0 win over Shawnee State on 11/4/16. In 2019, the Patriots won the tournament opener against Cumberland 1-0 before falling to Lindsey Wilson in a 1-1 draw, 2-0 in shootout.


LeFevre has had three NAIA All-American Honorable Mentions, eight MSC First Team All-Conference selections, and 16 players garner Second Team All-Conference honors. In addition to his success on the field, the Patriots have had 72 players earn Academic All-Conference accolades, while eight players have been named Daktronics-NAIA All-Americans.


LeFevre is originally from Stockholm, New Jersey. Him and his wife of 17 years, Betsy, have two sons, Isaac (11) and Micah (9). He graduated from Adelphi University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York in 2006 with a Masters' Degree in Sports Administration.


After his playing career, LeFevre became the head coach at Genessee Community College bolstering the program into a major player with an overall record of 41-17-1 in three seasons. While there, his teams were the Western New York Conference Champions in 2006 and 2007 and made an appearance in the Regional Final Four.


LeFevre made a stop at NCAA DI Binghamton University in 2008 as an assistant, helping the team finish with a 10-5-3 record and a sixth-straight conference final appearance before spending time at Adrian College (Michigan) from 2009-2013. At Adrian, he garnered a 31-53-13 record over five seasons and had the highest winning percentage in school history earning the first winning season record since 1983.


In 2015-2016, LeFevre was the head coach at NCAA DIII McMurray University. He has coached numerous NCAA All-Region players along with NJCAA and NSCAA All-Americans over his tenure, and his experience in the coaching realm is vast — covering all aspects of the game of soccer on various levels.

Coach LeFevre describes himself as relentless, detailed, and rational. He expects his players to work hard every day in every way with full effort. He wants his players to care about their teammates and the program.


UC Athletic Director Chris Kraftick commented, "Chris really impressed both myself and the committee during the interview process. His passion and energy for recruiting and developing players will be the cornerstone of his program. I cannot wait to see what he can do with the assets available to him at UC."
