Ryan Raufus

Ryan Raufus became the fourth head coach of the Blue Devil Women’s Soccer team in February 2011. He is the programs all-time winningest coach with a 73-105-23 (.420) record.


UW-STOUT (2011-Present)

Raufus has coached 22 All-WIAC selections, two all-region honorees and an All-American.


In the Class room, Raufus has coached 223 WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll students, six CSC Academic All-District selections and an Academic All-American


2022: Stout had two all-WIAC selections. Caylee Boone led the Blue Devils in scoring in 2022, totaling five goals and an assist for 11 points. She had 19 total shots in 1005 minutes played. Marissa Steele scored two goals and added two helpers for six points. She had 32 shots attempts in 1313 minutes on the pitch.


2021: After 1050 days, the Blue Devils were finally able to play a home game on the re-surfaced Nelson Field. Junior forward Marissa Steele was an all-region selection and freshman Hailey Kane joined Steele on the All-WIAC team.


2020: Season canceled due to COVID-19


2019: The 2019 Blue Devils were road warriors the entire season as work on the newly renovated Nelson field continued, including "home" games at nearby opponents' fields. And the Blue Devils more than doubled their wins total from the year before in the process.


2018: Blue Devil midfielder Sydney Kasper highlighted the season, earning her third consecutive all-WIAC nod.


2017: The Blue Devils earned the fourth seed in the 2017 WIAC tournament and advanced to the second round of the tournament where they fell to eventual conference champion UW-La Crosse. The Blue Devils' Sydney Kasper and Kaitlyn Hess were first team all-conference picks. Kasper earned third-team all-region honors.


2016: The Blue Devils earned the fourth seed in the WIAC tournament, powered by first team all-WIAC selections Jenna Kizlik, Kelly Conn and Lynn Johnson. Kizlik is only the second Blue Devil to earn three first team all-WIAC selections.


2015: Jenna Kizlik and Vanessa Wrobel received first-team all-WIAC honors.


2014: The Blue Devil defense racked up five shutouts and allowed no teams to score more than three goals. Seven of the Blue Devils' games were decided by one goal or three games ended in a tied score. Four games went into overtime. Jenna Kizlik and Lauren Kizlik were repeat all-WIAC selections. Defender Vanessa Wrobel was an all-WIAC pick.


2013: The Blue Devils overcame early season injuries and illnesses to finish third in a tough WIAC. Stout placed four on the all-WIAC team - Jenna Kizlik, Lauren Kizlik, Emily Ferger, Paige Meyer - matching a program best and advanced to the second round of the WIAC playoffs.


2012: The Blue Devils went 6-10-2 in 2012. The Blue Devils scored the second most goals in program history with a 13-0 win over Finlandia.


2011: In Raufus' first season, the Blue Devils posted an 11-5-1 record, ran a nine-game unbeaten streak through the middle of the schedule, advanced to the WIAC tournament for the first time in two years, were regionally ranked, had three players chosen all-conference, had two players chosen all-region and defender Courtney Tideman was selected as the program's first-ever All-American.


BEFORE UW-STOUT

LaCressent High School (2004-10) Raufus’ teams have compiled a 121-23-5 overall record and made five trips to the Minnesota state tournament, including a fourth-place finish in 2009.

La Crosse Logan High School (2002-10) The program made significant strides, including the only two winning seasons and playoff wins in school history.

Joshua Sanderson

Joshua Sanderson begins his eighth season as an assistant soccer coach for the Blue Devil program in 2024.


Sanderson comes directly to the Blue Devils after working with the Cedar Valley Soccer Club in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Sanderson directed the U5-U6 groups, but worked with all ages of boys and girls teams throughout his tenure from 2011-17. Sanderson coached the CVSC 1999/2000 Girls to the semi-finals of the Iowa State Cup at U15 and U16.


Sanderson was an assistant coach with the Wartburg College men's program from 2009-11, where the Knights advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2009, and was a graduate assistant coach at Bemidji State University, working with the women's program.


Sanderson received his bachelor's in biology education from North Dakota State University, where he was a member of the school's men's soccer club. He received his masters from Bemidji State in sports studies. Sanderson currently works with the Woodbury Soccer Club. Sanderson holds a USSF B License, a USYS National Youth License, and a NSCAA Level 3 Goalkeeping Diploma.


Sanderson is also an instructor in the UW-Stout Kinesiology, Health, Food and Nutritional Science Department.

Marcos Rodriguez

University of Wisconsin-Stout Athletic Director Duey Naatz has announced the hiring of Marcos Rodriguez as the Blue Devils' men's soccer head coach.


"We are excited for Marcos and the future of our men's soccer program," Naatz said. "He brings a wealth of experience from club, prep and collegiate soccer."


Rodriguez returns to Stout after a year as an assistant coach at St. Catherine's University in St. Paul, where he helped lead the Wildcats to a 13-5-4 record and an MIAC tournament championship with an appearance in the NCAA tournament.


"I'm really excited to be back at Stout as the men's head coach," Rodriguez said. "I would like to thank Duey, Erin Sullivan (deputy director of Athletics) and the search committee for the opportunity to build and lead the men's program at Stout"


Prior to St. Catherine's, Rodriguez coached the goalkeepers for the Blue Devils' women's team during the 2021 season. That year the goalkeepers had a combined goals against average of 1.19 with six clean sheets in 20 games played.


Since 2016, Rodriguez has been the goalkeeper director and administrative assistant for St. Croix Soccer in Stillwater, Minn., where he also coached the U13 and U17 academy girls.


Rodriguez has been the head boys varsity coach at River Falls High School since 2018. From 2015-18 he was the B Squad coach and goalkeeper coach at Mahtomedi (Minn.) High School. The Zephyrs were three-time conference champions and 2017 Class A state champions.


Collegiately, Rodriguez attended Presentation College in Aberdeen, S.D., where he was the starting goalkeeper in the 2014 season. That season he was sixth in the nation in saves per game and 10th in total saves.


Rodriguez will begin work immediately at UW-Stout. The Blue Devils begin play in the fall of 2024.
