      Adult Summer League will begin on July 12
      First of all, we have what is starting to look like a very good balance of teams for the summer league, with somewhere between 12-16 teams that I can split into competitive groups.
      However, because people are slow to register -- as usual -- we are going to delay the start of the season to July 12. There are not enough players registered on each team to make a schedule, order jerseys, order player passes, get fields prepared and line up referees before this weekend. In fact, of the 16 teams I am currently working with, only one team has at least 7 players. This happens every season.
      So, the season will start on July 12, after the July 4 holiday. We will play on Sundays and I will ask each team to play on one Thursday or Saturday over the six-week season.
      THIS IS IMPORTANT. Please tell your players NOT TO wait until the week of July 12 to register. And players can’t expect to walk into the office on Sunday, July 12 and say, “I want to register.” They have to take care of that all by themselves before the first game. Captains, tell your players to register now so I can take care of all the details prior to the start of the season.
       
      GUSA Summer Adult League at Bryan Park
      GUSA’s Summer 7v7 Adult League will be held on grass fields at Bryan Park beginning on July 12. The games will be 7 aside and played on Sunday evenings. Thursday nights and Saturday games are possible. The season will consist of 6 games. Smith Soccer Complex will also be used for games.
      Depending on the number and level of teams registering, divisions could include: Open, Co-Ed, Over-45. In co-ed games, there must be at least three females on the field at all times.
      Format: 7 versus 7, two 35 minute halves
      Fee:  $65 per player. Fee includes referee fees and registration with North Carolina Adult Soccer Association, field costs, administration costs.
      Players without a team can register and choose, “I wish to be assigned to a team.”  If you wish to form a new team, contact Tim Nash (tim@greensborounited.org)

      Season: The season begins March 15 and will consist of eight games and playoffs. Games will be played on primarily on Sundays at Bryan Park and Smith Soccer Complex. Saturday games may be scheduled as well.

      Teams: You can choose your team from the drop-down menu in registration. Anyone wishing to start a new team can do so by contacting Tim Nash (tim@greensborounited.org).

      Players without a team: Any player who does not have a team, can register and choose “I wish to be assigned to a team.” The player will be assigned based on age and competitive level, then notified prior to March 15.

      Divisions:

      (Double-rostering is allowed for an additional $20)
       

      Open: The open division is available to any player of any age, male or female. This division will play an eight-game season, 11v11, for a cost of $80.

      Over-40: The Over-40 division is available to any player with a birthday of 7/31/78 or earlier. This division will play an eight-game season, 11v11, for a cost of $80. Females of any age can play in the Over-40 Division.

      Over-50: The Over-50 division is available to any player with a birthday of 7/31/68 or earlier. Because the Over-50 division is new this season, we have decided to allow players age 47 and older for this season and re-visit it before the fall season. This division will play an eight-game season, 11v11, for a cost of $80. Females of any age can play in the Over-50 division.

      Over-60: The Over 60 division is available to any player with a birthday of 7/31/58 or earlier. Because the Over-60 division is new this season, we have decided to allow players age 57 and older for this season and re-visit it before the fall season. This division will play a six-game season, 7v7, for a cost of $45.

      Co-Ed: The Co-Ed division is available to any player of any age, male or female. This division will play a six-game season, 7v7, for a cost of $45.
