General Recreational Program Information
The goal of our recreational program is to provide opportunities for children to learn the game of soccer and get physical activity in a fun environment. We have developed a program of player skills clinics and coaches clinics which will supplement the guidance of volunteer coaches in teaching the basic skills needed to play the game of soccer and to learn team concepts.
Our program is one of the largest and most organized in the state. We have an office administrator as well as an on field licensed youth directors who constantly monitor the program on and off the field.
Our program is an opportunity for your child to meet and make new friends and is not necessarily an extension of your neighborhood or school environment. All recreational players are guaranteed 50% playing time provided they attend games and practices regularly and on time.
There are two recreational seasons per year. The Fall season plays from September through November. The Spring season plays March through May. Our teams are drafted by age and playing experience to insure equality of play. Players purchase their own uniform.
Games are played on Saturdays and Sunday afternoons. Practice may be any day Monday through Friday, usually after 5:00 PM, and will vary according to coach schedules. Recreational teams will have a scheduled practice once a week and play one game each week. If weekend games are rained out, they are usually made up during practice times the following week.
U6 through U12 play small-sided games on smaller than regulation fields and U14 and older play full sided on a regulation field. “Small-sided Soccer” encourages the growth and development of the player's individual skills, and insures FUN and enjoyment of the game through more involved play and more touches on the ball.
