A Letter to Bulls Families

Good Evening Bulls Families,

I want to welcome you to the 19th Annual Aiken Cup Soccer Tournament. This years event seems to be really shaping up, over 155 Teams from the southeast will converge on Aiken SC for some great competition and a great environment.

Please make our out of town guests feel welcome at our event. Make this a tournament that they always want to return to,

I want to make sure everyone is aware of the Bulls Code of Conduct. We will respect our teams, our players and our parents, our opponents their parents and their supporters, and the officials. ladies and gentleman, these officials will be working their tails off in some brutally hot weather, some of them will have 5-7 games each day. They are human and they will get tired. DO NOT, and I a very serious about this, do not berate, scream, yell or abuse the officials at this event. There will be a zero tolerance policy for poor sportsmanship or behavior from our players, parents, and coaches. If a referee asks you to leave the premises, you will leave the premises. I can not stress this enough. I will give the benefit of the doubt to the officials at this event. There are going to be plenty of calls they make that you do not like.... Some right and some wrong.... It is OK.... This is youth soccer not the World Cup Final and these officials are doing the best they can in some extreme circumstances........

I hope that this is a great weekend of soccer, I hope that the visitors to Aiken walk away with a great experience. I want our guests to leave saying WOW, What a great club and great group of people.

Please help make this one of the best tournaments in the Southeast

Good Luck To Everyone

Heat Index Expected to Be Over 100 Degrees ---There will be MANDATORY WATER BREAKS IN EVERY MATCH
Good Morning
Please Please Please read this and make sure your children read this and are hydrated this weekend.
It will be rough. Record high temperatures forecast this weekend - some of the highest in two years! Humidity will push the heat index over 110F this weekend. Start your hydration at least 2-3 days in advance of the tournament. Too much water without the proper nutrients can be just as bad and can possibly lead to a condition known as hyponatremia. Consider adding a little more salt than normal to your food, supplements that contains essential minerals (sometimes a simple multivitamin helps), nutrient rich foods and a little sports drink with your water. Do not forget the basics of healthy eating a variety of foods that naturally provide the nutrition you need. Know yourself and modify your plans accordingly. Above all, watch out for each other,  watch fellow competitors, fans, spectators, officials and friends for signs of heat exhaustion, heat cramps and heat stroke. These conditions can arise very quickly in even the most well conditioned athletes. I have added some basic information about Heat Related Injuries. There will be trainers at each location. Please see them if you have any symptoms of Heat Related Issues…..
