World Futbol Tour Launches 6v6 Adult Tour
The World Futbol Tour is in its 3rd year as a 3v3 youth tour and will be holding 1-day events in as many as 9 states this summer. Due to the success of its 3v3 tour, WFT has decided to add a 2nd tour, 6v6 for adults. With adult soccer growing faster than youth soccer and many youth clubs adding adult leagues to their programs, the decision was not difficult. Many of the WFT events will include both tours,
3v3-youth and 6v6-adult, operating side by side. However, there will
some standalone 6v6 and 3v3 tournaments.
"It makes perfect sense to promote a 6v6 adult tour to complement the
3v3 youth tour. There already exists an infrastructure of 6v6 leagues
and 6v6 tournaments throughout the US, which we plan to work with"
states Kenyon Cook, WFT Director.
As with the 3v3 tour, all of the local 6v6 tournaments will be for the WFT 6v6 World Cup III to be held on July 28-29 in Mooresville, NC at the new Mazeppa Park Soccer Complex. Teams playing in any WFT event also become eligible to enter their State Champions Cup or the nearest one geographically.
