The President’s Cup tournament committee is excited to announce the 2013 tournament will keep the new format used in 2012 for this State Championship event.
The format provides your team with great competition and every team will have the opportunity to advance to the next round – the Regional President’s Cup.
Round-robin games will be played the weekend of May 11-12, with all teams guaranteed a minimum of 3 games. Teams advancing out of the round-robin will play a semi-final match on Sunday afternoon, May 12. Championship matches will be played on Saturday, May 18 – soon to be known as 'Champions Saturday'.
In addition, to add to the atmosphere and excitement, President’s Cup and State Rec Cup Championship matches will be played at the same location on Champions Saturday - showcasing the best of Georgia Soccer at both the mid-select and recreational levels! President’s Cup teams will have the opportunity to show what its like to play at the next level. And everyone will be able to enjoy the camaraderie and festivities. It will be a great day, with great games for players, fans and soccer lovers of all ages.

Many new rules have been incorporated into the President’s Cup for this year’s event.
Teams will be able to Club Pass players onto their rosters for the tournament.
The President's Cup is a great way for mid-level teams to show their stuff at the end of the season. Lots of great games and the chance to advance to the Regional President's Cup - this year in Columbus, Georgia.
About the President's Cup
Georgia Soccer is pleased to invite your team to apply to the Georgia Soccer President's Cup - State Championship and Festival, May 11-12, 2013, open to Athena B and Classic 2 and lower teams. As the final event of the spring season, the President's Cup will be an exciting, competitive tournament offering great games, great fun and great results - State Champions in many divisions! Winners in all top divisions are eligible to advance to the Regional President's Cup in June.

Round-robin games will be played at various venues in the Atlanta area. Once divisions are finalized, groups will be assigned to venues. Games will be played at several venues in the Atlanta Area.
All Georgia Soccer registered teams in the following categories are eligible to participate.
A team may participate in the President's Cup or State Cup, but not both.
Guest players are not allowed.
Classic: all Classic 2 teams and lower eligible
Athena: all Athena B teams and lower eligible
We will not be hosting U10, U11, or U12 Divisions in the President's Cup. All Academy teams are encouraged to enter the Academy Cup - for U10, U11, and U12 teams only.

The President's Cup is open to select teams, classic*, athena* and academy registered and in good standing with their US Youth Soccer affiliated association. Age groups for this years’ tournament are u10, u11, u13, u14, u15, u16, u17 for boys and girls.
Guest players are not allowed.
The President's Cup will not have a u12 Academy Division. U12 Academy teams are eligible to compete in the Academy Cup.

Teams will be grouped according to past playing record to make the most competitive divisions possible. The Tournament Committee alone determines final placement. The Committee uses many factors when ranking teams including league playing division and record and tournament results, etc.
Advancement to Regional President's Cup
The Champion of the top Division in the President's Cup in the u13 through u17 age divisions have the opportunity to advance to the Regional Tournament. Champions in the 2nd Division are 'State Champs' of their Division but do not advance.
All teams and players must be registered with Georgia Soccer for the ‘11-‘12 seasonal year. US Youth Soccer roster and ‘11-‘12 player cards are required to participate.
U10s will play 6v6 – maximum roster size is 12 players. U11s will play 8v8 – maximum roster size is 14 players. U13, U14, U15 will play 11v11 - maximum roster size is 18. U16, U17 will play 11v11 – maximum roster size is 22 players.
Individual awards for 1st and 2nd place teams in each competitive age division.
Applications due - April 2012
On-line registrations are quick and easy and will be available in February. On-line registrations may be paid by check or credit card.
Entry fees are non-refundable once entries close. A $25.00 fee will be charged to teams that withdraw prior to the entry deadline.
Refunds will be made if the tournament is canceled due to weather or Acts of God, but approximately one-half of the entry fee will be retained.
