About US Club Soccer Leagues:
As
a result of the considerable interest expressed in US Club Soccer
playing a more direct role in league development, the organization
announced in September 2008 that it would begin selectively
administering its own regional leagues. These regional leagues are not
necessarily specific to the four USSF regions, as they are based on
smaller geographic regions.
The Northeast Pre-Academy League,
with U-14 and U-15 boys' divisions, is geared towards preparing teams
for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy at the U-16 and U-18 age
groups. The 12-team league features well-known member clubs in seven
states, all but one of which are current members of the U.S. Soccer
Development Academy. The league kicked off in February 2009 and will
run through July 2009.
The Southeast Regional League
features U-13, U-15 and U-17 boys' and girls' divisions. The league,
which features a North and South division, will begin play in May 2009
and run through the summer.
