2018 Tournament Rules

Laws of the Game: The MS Rush Spring Classic will be played by FIFA rules except as superseded by the rules contained herein. The build out line for 9-Under and 10-Under in both competitive and Rec-Plus 7v7 divisions will be utilized for the tournament. There will be no punting/drop kicking of the ball by the goalkeeper in the 9-Under and 10-Under age groups for both competitive and Rec-Plus divisions. The ball may be thrown or placed on the ground and then kicked back into play, both will be considered indirect and must touch another player before entering the opponent’s goal.

All 11-Under and below age groups will be following the USSF mandate for no heading. For 12-Under age groups, if the division has teams playing “up” or has D2/C2 or D3/C3 teams, the division will also follow the mandate for no heading. This is because there are players who are still 10 years old, so therefore must not head. For 2018 – 12U silver divisions will NOT allow heading, 12U Gold Divisions WILL allow heading.
