Amanda Bezner

Alvernia University Director of Athletics Bill Stiles named Amanda Bezner the Head Women's Soccer Coach in March of 2023.

Bezner previously served as the assistant coach for Alvernia's Women's Soccer program for the prior two seasons.

Under the assistance of Bezner, Alvernia accrued seven wins and five ties over the last two seasons. The Golden Wolves also had an All-MAC Commonwealth honoree in Haley Dougherty in 2022.

Bezner played collegiately for a season at Wilkes University before transferring to Alvernia for the 2007 season. During the 2008 season with Alvernia, Bezner played in 14 games, making 13 starts, and had an assist on the year to help lead Alvernia to a 6-9-3 overall record. Bezner was also a four-year started for Wilson High School and was a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association Olympic Development team.

In addition to serving as an assistant coach for Alvernia, Bezner has also coached for the FC Revolution Fury club team for the last three seasons, as well as the assistant coach for the Wyomissing Area High School Girls varsity team for the last eight seasons. The Spartans were District 3A champions the last three seasons and state semi-finalists in 2022.

Samantha Murray

Sam Murray is a former Alvernia University student-athlete and Women’s Soccer Player. She returned to Alvernia as a Sports Performance Coach through St. Luke's University Network and as an Assistant Women's Soccer Coach in 2022. Murray graduated in 2021 with her degree in Healthcare Science and in 2022 with her degree in General Science.

Murray began her coaching career as a Sports Performance Intern under Coach Nick Hurff in the Spring of 2022 and additionally as a Volunteer Soccer Coach for the Alvernia Women’s Soccer program. In the Summer of 2022, she worked as a personal trainer before joining St Luke's University Health Network and returning to Alvernia University.

She has three certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a Basic Olympic Lifting certification through Totten Training, a CPR and AED certification through the American Red Cross, and a Youth Mental Health First Aid certification through the National Council of Mental Wellbeing
