John Baillie

Beloit College and Beloit College Athletic Director Dave DeGeorge are proud to announce the hiring of John Baillie as the 14th head coach in Beloit College Women's Soccer history. Baillie joins the Buccaneers off a six year stint at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, Wis.

"We are extremely excited to have John Baillie lead our women's soccer program. John is a proven coach and leader. His understanding of Beloit's educational mission makes him a great fit." stated Dave DeGeorge

Baillie served as the Head Women's soccer coach for the Blue Angels since 2018, had a brief stint as head basketball coach from October 2019-March of 2020 and had served as the Assistant Athletic Director from January 2020 to the time of his resignation. Baillie led the Blue Angels to their most successful season in his tenure this past season.

No stranger to the Midwest Conference, Baillie is a 2008 graduate of Knox College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art Photography with a minor in Psychology. While at Knox, Baillie held many coaching positions in multiple sports, including Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach (Nov. 2009-June 2012), Men's Soccer Goalkeeper Coach from January 2012 to June 2012, Assistant Women's Soccer Coach from August 2008 through June 2012 and finally as an Assistant Men's Basketball coach from June 2008 to June 2010.

Following his time at Knox, Baillie went on to earn his Masters of Sport and Athletic Administration at Gonzaga University in Washington. Along the way, he has spent time coaching at the Waunakee Soccer Club, the Sun Prairie Soccer Club and Madison East High School.

"I am truly grateful for the privilege of becoming the next head women's soccer coach at Beloit College" said Baillie. "As I stepped onto campus, I immediately felt welcomed by this fantastic community; I saw the unwavering commitment to academic excellence and felt the drive for success from the team and department. I look forward to continuing the program's success in the field and classroom. Thank you to Dave DeGeorge and the search committee for placing their trust in me to lead this program."

I have used the Soccer in College site for 8 years, and it has helped me keep my personal and soccer information up to date, and has helped be track college contacts and interest. I think the site helped me prepare for college offers, and helped me determine that I wanted to play for UNC.
