Tobechukwu Obi

Coach Obi entered his 2nd season at the helm of the BMCC women’s soccer program in 2022.


In his debut season at BMCC as the Assistant Coach for the Men's team, Obi helped guide the Panthers to an overall 10-3-2 record to capture the program’s 12th CUNYAC Community College Championship, the third in four seasons, in thrilling fashion rallying to a 5-4 decision. The victory in the 2019 Conference finals propelled the Panthers to their first appearance in the Region XV finals since 2012. They fell to 2019 Region XV Champion Nassau Community College by the score of 2-0.

In the '19 season, Obi helped mentor the CUNYAC Player of The Year who buried 11 goals, the seventh-most in a single-season season. 4 players were selected as CUNYAC CC All-Stars, 2 players were named on the All-Region XV First Team, a player earning All-Region XV Second Team Honors and another grabbing All-Region XV, Honorable Mention.


Obi looks to rebuild BMCC Women's program back to his prestigious status.
