Shaun Soderling

In 2020-2021, Shaun Soderling began his 1st campaign as head coach of Brescia University Women’s Soccer. Soderling comes to Brescia from the NCAA Division II’s Alderson Broaddus University as the recruiting coordinator for the men's team and a scout for the women's team. The Battlers had numerous GMAC championships and runner-up finishes during Soderling's time there, including being ranked 16th in the nation in 2015.

Soderling has helped Brescia see an improvement after going 0-11 in the 2020 COVID season through a focus on developing the current roster and a agressive recruiting strategy that saw Brescia not only win their first River States Conference match in 2021, but a dramatic decrease in goals allowed.

Prior to Alderson Broaddus, Soderling was the Director of Operations for the men's soccer team at the University of Evansville. During his time at the NCAA Division I university, he operated the team's networking efforts, coordinated community service opportunities for the elementary schools in the area, and assisted in the daily operation of team activities.

Before coaching at the collegiate level, Soderling coached at three high schools: Vincennes Lincoln High School, Henderson County High School, and North Knox High School.

He served as the boys' varsity head coach at Vincennes Lincoln High School, where his team set numerous IHSAA records for goals scored – as a team and individually – and won several sectional and conference championships between 2010-2012. As the assistant girls' varsity coach and head girls' JV coach at Henderson County High school in 2007, Soderling was tasked with developing the junior varsity players and designing training sessions for the varsity team, among helping guide the Lady Colonels Varsity team to win the district championship that season. At North Knox High school, Soderling served as the varsity girls head coach, coaching the team to its first multiple win season and program's first sectional victory. In addition to his collegiate and high school experience, Soderling has many years of club coaching experience that spans back to 2003. He has most recently coached the Indiana Fire Juniors South.

Soderling graduated from Vincennes University in 2004 with an degree in broadcasting. He also has a high school coach certificate and an Advanced National Diploma from United Soccer Coaches, along with an "E" and National "D" license from the United States Soccer Federation. Soderling is the co-host of #SoccerChat, a weekly coaching podcast which has accumulated over 200,000 listeners

Coach Soderling is married to Kaycie, and has two children Quinn and Duke. Soderling is a supporter of Chelsea FC, the US National Teams, and the NWSL. He loves to enjoy time with his family, attending his children’s games and events, and golfing.
