Robert Hunter

Robert Hunter is in his 12th year with Columbia College, sixth as the Head Coach. While at Columbia, the team has achieved a record of 100-85-10, while making the conference championship game in 2011, and achieving 2nd and 3rd place finishes in the conference in 2015 and 2016, as well as making the conference tournament in all but one year. In 2018, Hunter coached the AAC player of the year, Ruby Hallam, who was also named an NAIA All-American. During his time at CC, the program has received numerous individual awards including 4 golden boots, 2 offensive players of the year, 1 AAC player of the year, and double-digits of first-team all-conference selections.


Prior to coming to Columbia, Hunter played professionally in England after playing collegiately at Coastal Carolina University where he received his Masters of Arts in Teaching, and Furman University, where he received a Bachelors of Arts in Communications. At Coastal Carolina, Hunter garnered Big South First Team All-Conference honors and All-Tournament Team honors while leading the team to the conference championship game in 2008 after a second place regular season finish. In 2008, Hunter had 11 goals and 6 assists (28 points) to lead the team in both categories. The 2009 Chanticleers were also the Big South Regular Season Champions as Hunter received Big South Academic All-Conference Honors. In 2006, Hunter led the Paladins of Furman University in goals scored, while garnering Academic All-Conference in every season he was with the program.


Prior to playing in college, Hunter represented both the South Carolina and USYSA Region III team in ODP, was called up to the US U14 National Team Camp in 2002, and attended IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton, FL, his senior year of high school. Prior to IMG, he attended Waccamaw High School in Pawleys Island, SC, for two years, where he tied the single season goals record with 37 and in just two years scored 61 goals while being named all-region and all-state.


Hunter currently holds a NSCAA National Diploma as well as a USSF "D" license.

Keith McCawley

Keith McCawley is in his fifth year as an assistant coach at Columbia College. Coach McCawley currently works as the Game Day Operations and Athletic Facilities Manager for the college. He currently holds his USSF "D" license, and also has experience in the high school game, having been both an Assistant and Head Varsity Coach in the Columbia area. In addition, Coach McCawley has multiple years of experience in club soccer coaching for Lexington Soccer Academy, as well as being Co-Tournament Director for the Spring Tournament which routinely attracted over 100 teams.


Coach McCawley will take on some of the recruiting responsibilities at Columbia College, specifically focusing on Junior College and other transfers. His role will primarily be to add quality players to the squad from the junior college ranks through research and scouting of the impressive nationwide Junior College network. He is also responsible for scouting reports on the Koalas opposition throughout the season.
