David Frank

David Frank was named as the Dominican men's soccer head coach on March 21, 2018. He brings a wealth of experience in the Bay Area to the Penguins after spending two seasons, 2016 and 2017, as the head coach of Holy Names and three seasons as the men's assistant coach at Academy of Art from 2013-15. Before his time with the Urban Knights, Frank spent seven seasons as an assistant coach at UC Santa Cruz overseeing fundraising, recruiting and logistical needs of the team.


Frank coached the Penguins to a record-setting year in 2019, helping his team break Dominican records in the categories of single-season points, points per game, goals, goals per game, game-winning goals and overall team points in a single season. Forward Luke Raley lead the way for the record-breaking year, tallying 18 goals and 41 points during the 2019 season. Frank's squad finished the season with record-setting 104 total points, averaging 5.78 points per game on 38 total goals and 28 total assists on the season.


Frank was a team captain at UC Santa Cruz as a player, earning a Bachelor of Arts in business management economics in 2007. He then went on to play soccer professionally for the San Jose Frogs FC and as a reserve player in Bundesliga and in the MLS for the Houston Dynamo and San Jose Earthquakes.


He received a master's degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine in 2016. A constant student of the game, Frank has received the US Soccer Federation B license, the NSCAA National Diploma and the English Football Association Level 1 licenses for coaching. Frank is also an active coach in the community outside of his collegiate coaching, currently working as the Director of Coaching for the Under-16 through Under-19 boys teams at Marin FC.

Ricardo Martin

Ricardo Martin was hired by Dominican as the assistant men's soccer coach in August of 2021.


He came to the Penguins after coaching for several years at the collegiate and youth levels. His stops include the College of Marin, Merritt Junior College, Cal North ODP an Marin FC. A native of Rodeo, California, Martin played collegiately for San Jose State where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. He completed a Masters of Arts in Kinesiology and Sports Management in 2021 from San Jose State.
