Tim Bruner

Tim Bruner was named Edgewood College's men's soccer head coach prior to the start of the 2023 season. He became the fourth head coach in Edgewood College History.

In his first season, Bruner led the Eagles to their first NACC tournament appearance since 2018. The Eagles earned eight wins, their most since the 2018 season. Bruner coached Miguel Konde Gwo to his First Team All-NACC and Third Team All-Region selection following the 2023 season. Under Bruner's leadership, Austin Hauser was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.

Bruner is quite familiar with Edgewood College, having graduated in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in business after spending time on both the men’s soccer and tennis teams. Bruner currently ranks fourth all-time in points (92), sixth in goals (33) and remains the leader in assists (26). One of his proudest moments as a player came when Edgewood College participated in the NCAA Tournament in 1999. Most recently, Bruner served as an assistant coach with the women’s soccer program from 2018-2020 and assisted the men’s program from 2016-2019.

Bruner has vast experience in the Madison area. Since 2021 he served as the head coach for the men’s soccer team at Madison College. Over two seasons he led the Wolfpack to a 22-8-2 record and a 12-2-1 conference record. In 2022 the men’s soccer team secured the first North Central Community College Conference Championship since 2016. The Wolfpack reached the NJCAA Region 4 Tournament Semifinal in both years under Bruner’s leadership and earned a NJCAA Midwest District Tournament game in 2022. Bruner coached Gabe Voung to NJCAA Division III First Team All-American honors in 2022 after he recorded a program-record 25 goals and 54 total points.

Bruner also brings an extensive background into the club soccer scene. He has served as a team trainer and head coach with the Madison 56ers since June of 2017. He has also coached at Rush Soccer Club.

Bruner was a 1998 graduate of Racine St. Catherine’s, where he competed in both soccer and track & field.

Bruner currently lives in Verona, Wisconsin, with his wife, Elsa, and three young daughters.

The site was a great resource to sort colleges by my selection criteria, connect with coaches and be a repository for all of my communications. Overall, the best site that I used in my college soccer search.
