McCallie Jones-Winstead

McCallie Winstead is entering her second year as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Emory & Henry College. Winstead comes to E&H from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland where she spent two seasons as an assistant coach.

While at Goucher, Winstead has assisted in all aspects of the Gophers’ women’s soccer program and has served in roles as recruiting coordinator and academic advisor. She has worked extensively in player development, team operations and fundraising all while attending graduate school. Winstead also has coaching experience with the Baltimore Celtic and Lutherville-Timonium Soccer Clubs in the Baltimore area and the Ralph Lundy Soccer Academy, United Soccer Academy, West Ashley High School and Charleston Soccer Academy from Charleston, South Carolina.

Winstead was a four-year letterwinner at the College of Charleston where she scored 11 goals and 12 assists in 65 career matches played. She finished her career with over 4,000 minutes played. Winstead also played from 2010-15 with the Charlotte Lady Eagles of the USL W-League and was named an all-conference player in 2013.

Winstead earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication with minors in coaching and psychology from the College of Charleston in 2014. She earned a Master of Education with emphases in athletic program leadership and administration from Goucher in the spring of 2017. Winstead is a member of United Soccer Coaches and holds a USSF D License from the United States Soccer Federation.

Winstead and her husband, Thomas, reside in Abingdon with their dog, Cooper.

Kendyl Baird

Kendyl Baird is entering her first year as an Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Emory & Henry College. She will assist Head Coach McCallie Jones-Winstead in all the day-to-day operations of the program including training sessions, match planning, equipment, travel and recruiting.

Baird joins E&H after previously coaching club soccer with F.C. Dallas Tri-Cities, based out of Kingsport, Tennessee and High Country Soccer Association in her native Boone, North Carolina. She has also coached at the high school level, leading Tennessee High School for the 2017 season.

Baird was a four-year starter at King (Tenn.) University where she scored 17 goals and assisted on 10 others, earning First Team All-Conference Carolinas and all-region accolades. She was also a standout in the classroom, being named academic all-conference, academic all-region and a recipient of the Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Award. Following her career with the Lady Tornado, Baird played in the Women's Premier Soccer League with the Knoxville Lady Force.

A 2016 graduate of King, Baird holds a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training with a minor in coaching. Her sister, Ashlyn, was a four-year letterwinner on the basketball court for Emory & Henry (2008-12).
