Sarah Salamida

Coach Salamida has been the head of the Baron's Women's Soccer program since 2020.


The 2022 season was one of the best in program history. Salamida helped lead Tania Davidson to a PAC Player of the Year season. Davidson is the first player in program history to earn Conference Player of the Year honors. In total six Barons earned All-PAC recognition this season, the most since 2014. The team earned a #2 seed in the PAC playoffs, and they would make it all the way to the PAC Championship. For the teams incredible success Salamida was named PAC Coach of the Year an award she attributes to her entire staff.


In the 2021 season, Salamida led the Lady Barons to a 7-8 record which set them just outside the PAC Playoffs in seventh place in the conference. Three Barons earned All-PAC Honors, as Tania Davidson was named to the First Team, and Angela Postage and Claire Dawyot earned Second Team recognition.


As the Interim Head Coach for the 2020-21 season, Salamida stepped up to challenge, by delivering a 4-6-2 record and a trip to the PAC Semifinal. Under Salamida's tutelage four Barons recieved All-PAC honors in the 2020-21 season. Freshman, team leading goal scorer, Juliana Rubino was named to the First Team. Rubino had one of the best seasons by a Baron all-time, as she scored 21 points (8g, 5a). Seniors MaryKate Bateman and Claire Dawyot earned Second Team Honors, while senior Sarah Cocozza was named Honorable Mention. Four All-Conference players was the largest representation Franciscan had since 2014 when they had seven All-AMCC selections.


Then, Sarah Schriner, she graduated from Franciscan after a successful career of playing soccer and basketball at Franciscan. On the soccer field, she was named Second Team All-AMCC in 2017. She was art of the 2017 team that went 10-10 with a trip to the ECAC Tournament. On the basketball floor, she was named AMCC Newcomer of the year in 2014. Her 359 points as a freshman are still second most all-time, and she ranks 4th in career points.


Salamida is married to her husband Gabe, mother of the Baron's biggest fan and future Baron herself, Eliza Day, and resides in Steubenville, Ohio.
