Dan Frick

It has been an outstanding run for Dan Frick during his six seasons as Goldey-Beacom's women's soccer coach, which were preceded by two years as an assistant. More success for the program definitely is ahead as the squad looks for that elusive conference title.


Under Frick's leadership, the Lightning have competed in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament all six seasons and that includes three consecutive trips to the semifinals (2017-19). The team also has recorded double figures in victories five straight years, a first in program annals.


The 2022 campaign provided a huge boost to the program with Alyssa Ruggeri named the CACC Player of the Year and first team CCA All-East Region. The 2019 squad went 11-7-2, which included a five-game unbeaten streak and a return trip to the CACC semifinals. The squad won eight home games that fell one shy of the program record and outscored its opponents, 61-31.


Frick saw Jenna Fannon from that squad be named second team All-America and the CACC Player of the Year. He also saw Line Kristoffersen and Rose Benjamin each being tabbed CoSIDA Academic All-District a second straight year.


Goldey-Beacom in 2019 played in the CACC Tournament a school-record sixth straight year, hosted a quarterfinal game for a program-best fourth consecutive year and advanced to the semifinals for a third straight year.


The 2018 unit (15-5, 11-1 CACC) enjoyed a remarkable campaign in which it broke the school record for most wins, most conference victories, most home wins with nine and a team-record 63 goals. The Lightning won their first six games both overall and in the conference for the best starts in team annals and recorded their third straight season of double-digit wins for the first time in program history.


That season also marked the first time Goldey-Beacom played in the CACC semifinals in consecutive years. The quarterfinal triumph also marked the first time in program history it had won a conference tournament game in back-to-back seasons.


Goldey-Beacom in 2017 took a big step forward by ending with 12 victories to close fourth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, advance to the league's semifinals and tie the school record with eight conference wins. The squad also produced three all-league picks, two named all-region and two selected to the all-tournament team.


The Lightning in 2016 ended third in the CACC, clinching a home league tournament game for the first time since 2005. In a year in which they outscored their opponents by almost a 2:1 ratio and produced a third straight CACC Tournament berth for the first time in a decade, Frick was named the league’s Coach of the Year.


Frick has been working with the Lightning’s goalkeepers since his arrival. That helped Cindell Aguirre become of the area’s top goalkeepers, ending her career first in school history with 15 shutouts, third with a 1.77 goals against average and third with 264 saves.


During the 2015 campaign, Frick also was the goalkeeper coach for the men’s squad and paid huge dividends. He worked extensively with Suhail Bismilla, who in 2016 was picked first team All-CACC as well as Goldey-Beacom’s Male Student-Athlete of the Year.


Frick presently works for the Delaware Rush club team as the goalkeeper academy director, a head coach for the high school level and team trainer. He also was an assistant coach for the New Hampshire Phantoms of the Premier Developmental League from 2010-11, the women’s team at Wheaton (MA) in 2010, as well as the men’s teams at Fitchburg State in 2009 and East Stroudsburg from 2007-08.


Frick played four seasons (2002-04, 06) at East Stroudsburg and graduated second in team history with four shutouts, seventh with 116 saves and his 0.65 goal-against average from 2006 is second for one season.


He also worked with Puma North American from 2008-11 as an assistant facilities manager, helping with overstock sales, maintaining the warehouse staff and the upkeep of the company’s 130,000 square foot headquarters.


Frick graduated East Stroudsburg in 2006 with a B.S. in Recreation & Leisure Services Management and in 2008 with an M.S. in Sport Management & Leadership. He earned his USSF “A” License in 2015 and has an advanced national diploma from the NSCAA.
