Chip Lemberg

Chip Lemberg started coaching for Harper College as assistant women’s soccer coach in 2014. He was the interim Head Coach in 2018 before being permanently promoted in 2019.


Lemberg began coaching in 2001 for the KUFC, where he worked jointly to oversee youth activities for the club.


He is currently the Technical Director for the Arlington Aces Soccer Club in Arlington Heights.


Lemberg recently served as the Youth Director for the Campton United Soccer Club out of St. Charles from 2009-2013, where he was responsible for program growth, coach retention, player retention and player development. While there, he also coached several teams and managed all youth academy programs including: Junior Soccer Academy, Academy, Recruitment and ID Camps. He also supervised the annual recruitment, tryout and selection process for the club.


Lemberg holds a USSF National C License and USSF National Youth License in the sport.


Lemberg received his Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate/Organizational Communication from Northern Illinois University in 1995 and also has a minor in History.

Vlad Gacanovic

Vlad Gacanovic started coaching at Harper College as an assistant coach to Chip Lemberg & the women’s soccer team in the Fall of 2022. During his first year with the team, the women reached both the region 4 finals, as well as the Midwest district final. In the semifinal of the district, Harper was able to hold off #5 ranked Rochester Yellowjackets 1-0 and earn a place in the finals.


In the summer of 2023, Harper named Vlad Gacanovic as the head coach of the men’s soccer program. This would be Coach Vlad’s first experience as a head coach at the college level. During his first season with the men’s side, he was able to help guide them to a region 4 championship, while being named region 4 coach of the year, as well as winning the Midwest district championship & advancing to nationals in his very first year.


Gacanovic has spent his whole life around the game of soccer. He started the sport at the age of five playing for the likes of Chicago Wind Soccer Club, FC United, & Chicago Magic Academy at the youth club level. In high school he played all four years at Maine South High School & later attended Carthage College where he spent one season with the Firebirds.


Gacanovic began coaching in 2009 right after his senior year of high school where he was a volunteer coach for Maine South summer camps, before joining the Chicago Fire Soccer Club as part of Youth Elite Soccer (YES) where he spent one season. Vlad would spend the next six years holding private training sessions before adventuring into his first head coaching role at Elk Grove Village High School in the fall of 2019 for their girls’ JV team. He is also the goalie coach for varsity & JV & is currently coaching for the Grenadiers every spring.


Coach Vlad holds a USSF coaching license & also coaches at Park Ridge Soccer Club.


Vlad Gacanovic earned his bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in management at Robert Morris University.
