Ty Stauffer

OWENSBORO, KY - Ty Stauffer has been named the new Head Women's Soccer Coach, as announced by Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Mark Shook on Thursday.


"He impressed all of us on his campus visit and brings with him the experience, expertise, energy, and passion for this important job. He will work tirelessly to take our Women's Soccer program to the next level - in all phases," said Mark Shook.


Stauffer is no stranger to Kentucky Wesleyan, as he was a four-year starter on the Kentucky Wesleyan Men's Soccer team, during which he became the first All-American in program history, and the first American to win the GLVC Player of the Year award. Along with his Wesleyan soccer accolades, Stauffer was also a four-year letter winner on the Kentucky Wesleyan Men's Basketball team, during which he won the 1990 National Championship.


Since 2002, Stauffer has owned and operated SportsTutor, the premier soccer training academy in the tri-state area. Along with SportsTutor, Stauffer is a U.S. Soccer Coaching License Instructor, is the Coaching Director of the Owensboro United Soccer Club, has been a coach on the U.S. Youth Futsal U14 and U16 girls national teams, and holds a U.S. Soccer "C" License.

Since then, it has been a personal goal to finish what I started and to help the program achieve accolades on and off the field that reflect the time, effort, and persistence of all those involved, past and present. As Stauffer briefly stated, this is not his first time coaching the Women's Soccer program at Kentucky Wesleyan. In 1993, just a few years removed from his playing career, Stauffer was the first coach in KWC Women's Soccer history. He has also coached on the men's side at Wesleyan, as he was an assistant on the Men's Soccer team from 2012-14.

John Fusco

John Fusco enters his 12th season as the Panthers head men’s soccer coach in 2022.


The 2014 season marked the most successful season in Fusco's tenure. The Panther's won seven games with three ties in 18 contests as they reached the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship quarterfinals for the first time since 1994.


Fusco, 36, came to KWC after serving eight years as the head women’s coach at his alma mater, Brescia University, where he led the Bearcats to two NAIA Region 12 appearances.


During his tenure at Brescia he produced one All-American, three Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Year, 20 All-KIAC performers and four Academic All-Americans.


"John Fusco comes to us with all the right coaching credentials and expertise to lead our soccer program to a new level of accomplishments," said Williams. "His background as a powerful collegiate player along with his various coaching experiences in high school, club and college level make him a good fit for KWC."


For the past 12 years Fusco has also served as head coach for the Owensboro United Soccer Club at various levels for boys and girls ranging from seven to 18 years old.


His club achievements includes multiple-United teams to several tournament victories and Kentucky State Cup Final Four appearances while producing many college level student-athletes.


“This is a very exciting time in my coaching career as I lead my first men's collegiate team," Fusco stated. "We will have a good core of returning student-athletes plus new freshmen to advance our program to new successes.


Fusco also spent two seasons as United’s director of coaching for 20 competitive teams including 250 players.


He holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of American Advanced National Coaching License and a NSCAA Level II Goalkeeping Diploma. The NSCAA certified him as the state’s technical director for one year to teach advanced regional coaching courses.


His coaching career started in 2001 as an assistant coach at Owensboro High School. Following Owensboro, he returned to Brescia for two years as the assistant men’s and women’s soccer coach. He received the 2003 AFLAC Assistant Coach of the Year Award.


The Paducah, Ky., native was a four-year starter at Brescia University and earned All-Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors twice and selected as team captain.


He earned all-district, all-region and all-state honors at Lone Oak High School in Paducah. He also played club soccer with the Paducah Storm.


Fusco graduated from Brescia in 2001 with a Bachelors of Science in mathematics and computer science.

Krzysztof Rapacz

Krzysztof Rapacz enters his third season as the Assistant Coach for Kentucky Wesleyan College Men’s & Women’s Soccer programs in 2022-23. Rapacz currently assists both the men’s and women’s programs with recruiting, training, and development efforts.


Rapacz, a native of Manchester, England, played two seasons at St. Catharine College (KY) before transferring to Kentucky Wesleyan College (KY) for his last two seasons. During Rapacz’s freshmen year at St. Catharine, the program experienced a record-breaking campaign where they finished the season receiving votes for top-25 in the nation in NAIA .The team recorded the most wins in a season and earned the program’s only appearance in the conference tournament final, where they lost 2-1 to nationally ranked Lindsey Wilson College.


After his sophomore year, Rapacz transferred to Kentucky Wesleyan College where he helped lead the Panthers to the quarterfinals of the GMAC tournament for their first time in three years. In his time at St. Catharine College and Kentucky Wesleyan College, Rapacz proved to be a core member and leader of both programs as a four-year starter in the backline and appeared in 64 matches during his collegiate career.


Rapacz also played for Dayton Dynamo Football Club (NPSL) in 2017 where he played an instrumental part in guiding the team to the NPSL Eastern Conference Championship Title as well as reaching the NPSL Regional Playoff Semi-Finals.


Throughout Rapacz’s undergraduate studies he achieved numerous awards off the field, such as Academic All-Conference honors in both the Mid-South Conference and Great Midwest Athletic Conference.


Rapacz graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2018 with a Bachelors in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. In 2020 he earned a second degree from Wesleyan in Sports Management.


Rapacz holds a FA Level 1 Coaching Certification and a U.S. Soccer Coaching Grassroots License. He is currently working towards his U.S. Soccer D License in coaching. He resides in Owensboro, KY, with his wife Shauna.
