Ty Stauffer

OWENSBORO, KY - Ty Stauffer has been named the new Head Women's Soccer Coach, as announced by Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Mark Shook on Thursday.

"He impressed all of us on his campus visit and brings with him the experience, expertise, energy, and passion for this important job. He will work tirelessly to take our Women's Soccer program to the next level - in all phases," said Mark Shook.

Stauffer is no stranger to Kentucky Wesleyan, as he was a four-year starter on the Kentucky Wesleyan Men's Soccer team, during which he became the first All-American in program history, and the first American to win the GLVC Player of the Year award. Along with his Wesleyan soccer accolades, Stauffer was also a four-year letter winner on the Kentucky Wesleyan Men's Basketball team, during which he won the 1990 National Championship.

Since 2002, Stauffer has owned and operated SportsTutor, the premier soccer training academy in the tri-state area. Along with SportsTutor, Stauffer is a U.S. Soccer Coaching License Instructor, is the Coaching Director of the Owensboro United Soccer Club, has been a coach on the U.S. Youth Futsal U14 and U16 girls national teams, and holds a U.S. Soccer "C" License.

"In 1993 at the request of the President, I was thrust into this position with no experience or plan. Since then, it has been a personal goal to finish what I started and to help the program achieve accolades on and off the field that reflect the time, effort, and persistence of all those involved, past and present. This position is far more than just a coaching job for me." - Ty Stauffer

As Stauffer briefly stated, this is not his first time coaching the Women's Soccer program at Kentucky Wesleyan. In 1993, just a few years removed from his playing career, Stauffer was the first coach in KWC Women's Soccer history. He has also coached on the men's side at Wesleyan, as he was an assistant on the Men's Soccer team from 2012-14.

"Ty's love for Kentucky Wesleyan College, and as a member of our KWC Athletics Hall of Fame, along with his prominence in the soccer community in the region and beyond, make this a perfect match for us," - Mark Shook.
