Zachary Shiposh

Zachary Shiposh was officially hired to lead the Lackawanna College Men's Soccer program on in May 2022, after serving as the assistant coach for the Falcons men's program since February of the same year. Shiposh enters his second season at the helm of the Falcons for the 2023 campaign.


In 2022, the Falcons had one of their most successful years in program history, winning six games, which tied a season-high since the program's inception in 2016, and finishing at 6-2, the first time Lackawanna College men's soccer had ever finished a season above .500. The Falcons averaged nearly three goals per contest on the year, and made the postseason district playoff, falling to SUNY Ulster at home.


A Northeastern Pennsylvania native, Shiposh was an elite club soccer coach for 8 years in Germany. Since his return to the States, he’s been active coaching youth club teams in the region, most recently as Head Travel Coach for Riverfront United, Scranton, Pennsylvania.


Coach Shiposh understands the elite student athlete and what it takes to perform at the collegiate and professional levels. As a player, he represented German clubs Eintracht Braunschweig, FT Braunschweig, and FSV Erlangen-Bruck at various senior and youth levels. Shiposh was also a walk-on starter at NCAA Division I St. John's University in 2018.


As a youth player, Coach Shiposh was a member of the U.S. Olympic Development Program National Team and represented the United States at the 2005 Danone Cup in Lyon, France. Shiposh was a member of the Philadelphia Union and FC Delco Development Academies before moving to Brazil to study and play for Rio de Janeiro-based club Duque de Caxias.


Shiposh graduated from Ricarda-Huch-Schule Gymnasium in Braunschweig, Germany and is a 2018 graduate of St. John's University with a bachelor's degree in Finance, Magna Cum Laude. He is studying for his master's degree in Sport Policy, Management, and International Development at the University of Edinburgh.


In addition to holding his US National E Coaching License, Shiposh currently holds a United Soccer Coaches Diploma in Performance Analysis, an English FA Level I in Talent Identification, and the TOVO V1 Diploma. Shiposh also holds a United States Soccer National C License. Coach Shiposh is concurrently undertaking his UEFA B license in Germany.


Shiposh currently lives in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, with his three dogs.

Brendon Weinhardt

Brendon Weinhardt enters his second season with Lackawanna College men's soccer for the 2023 campaign.


Brendon, a West Chester native and a Temple University grad, helped coach Zach Shiposh and the Falcons to a 6-2 record last year, the first time in the program's brief history that Lackawanna men's soccer finished above .500.


Brendon has plenty of coaching experience in the soccer circles of NEPA, currently serving as the Director of coaching at Riverfront United FC in Scranton, PA. He was also an assistant men's soccer coach with the University of Scranton. Brendon holds a United States Soccer National C License.
