Miguel Lozano

Miguel Lozano enters his 23rd season as the head coach of the La Roche University women's soccer team in 2020-21, the longest-tenured among AMCC women’s soccer coaches.

During his 22 years of coaching college soccer, Miguel has established himself as one of the sport's most consistent winners. He has averaged over 10 wins a season in his career, sporting a 217-164-31 (.564) lifetime coaching record.

In his career, Miguel has coached his teams into the AMCC post-season 17 times, including two appearances in the AMCC Championship game. In 2002 The Redhawks posted the best regular season record and hosted the AMCC tournament. The team also received ECAC Tournament invitations in 2002, 2004 and 2009.

Miguel’s list of accomplishments is impressive. In his 18 years of coaching at La Roche, 80 players have received all-conference honors, including three Newcomers of the Year and three conference MVP’s. Miguel has been named AMCC Coach of the Year twice.

Miguel engages in numerous soccer activities in addition to his coaching role at La Roche. He is the co-founder and President of FC Pittsburgh Soccer Club, a youth soccer club dedicated to serving the needs of the committed soccer player through high-quality instruction and coaching. He is also the director of the UPMC Passavant/La Roche College Youth Soccer Camps.

Earlier in his coaching career, he coached at all youth levels for North Hills Soccer Club (NHSC), and as a coach for the Pittsburgh Strikers Soccer Club, his team won State Championships in 1995 and 1996. In 1996, his team won the prestigious Continental Alliance Tournament (NIKE CUP) in Philadelphia. His youth teams have played in tournament finals in Eastern and Western Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, North Carolina, Florida, Illinois, Virginia and Ohio. Miguel was also a member of the PA West and Region 1 Olympic Development Program regional coaching staff.

This site helped me establish communications with several colleges. The ability to contact colleges that interested me and research information about them was very helpful.
