David Trevino

David Trevino joined the La Sierra University Athletic Department as the Women’s Head Soccer Coach in 2016, after serving years on the men’s side as both an Assistant (2009-2014) and Associate Head Coach (2015-Present).


In 2017, Trevino led the Golden Eagles to the most wins in program history (13-5), a top four Cal Pac finish and a spot in the semifinals of the Cal Pac Championship Tournament. Trevino and his coaching staff have also been vital in the developement of several student-athletes who went on to receive Cal Pac honors, including back-to-back "Newcomer of the Year" awards (Nadia Cordova, '19 and Marisol Bravo, '18).


On the men’s side, Trevino assisted the Golden Eagles to an overall record of 12-7 (most wins in school history), top three finish in the Cal Pac standings (record 9-2) and qualification to the quarterfinals of the Cal Pac Tournament (2017). Trevino also assisted the men’s team in reaching the Association of Independent Institutions Semifinal (2011), Cal Pac Final (2013) and a Top 25 national ranking.


Trevino served two seasons as head coach of the Pro NPSL team, Deportivo Coras USA, an affiliated franchise with a professional team in Mexico. In his first season upon building the First Team, Reserve Team, and Super 20 Team from the ground up, he led them to a SCP U23 League and State Championship, which earned them qualification to the US Open Cup. Trevino was also involved in leading the reserves to a USL Super 20 Southwest Regional Championship. In his second season, they reached 2nd place in the NPSL Southwest Regional Conference, NPSL Playoffs, and the Regional Quarterfinals. In this same season, Trevino led them to a #2 West Region ranking and #1 Southwest Region ranking. Another highlight of this second season included a big International draw with Club America U20s and win over Xolos Tijuana Reserves of Mexico.


Trevino is also active in the community, most recently serving as the Associate Head Coach at Norte Vista High School for the boy’s varsity team (2010-Present). From 2014-2020 he helped lead them to seven consecutive River Valley League Championships. He also helped the Braves qualify for seven consecutive CIF playoffs, in addition to quarterfinal finishes (2014, 2018) and a semifinal finish in 2020.


As a four-year starter and team captain, Trevino played his collegiate soccer career at La Sierra University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management (2008). Trevino went on to play for the Los Angeles Bolts of the PASL, placing second in the National Tournament Final.


Trevino resides in the Inland Empire, while finishing his MBA in Accounting from La Sierra University.

David Trevino

David Trevino joined the La Sierra University Athletic Department as the Men’s Associate Head Coach in 2015, after serving as an Assistant Coach for six years prior. Trevino has also led the women’s soccer program as the Head Coach, since 2016.


In 2017, Trevino assisted the Golden Eagles to an overall record of 12-7 (most wins in school history), a top three finish in the Cal Pac standings (record 9-2) and qualification to the quarterfinals of the Cal Pac Tournament.
