St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame inductee Tim Rooney has been a soccer coach at Lewis and Clark Community College for more than 25 years.
Over that time, he has earned honors including National Coach of the Year and Regional Coach of the Year, and has brought home two National Women’s Soccer Championships, one in 1999 and the most recent in 2008. In 2009, Rooney’s women went back to nationals and tied for third place.
“Being a coach has given me the opportunity to work with so many young men and women that have grown into productive, mature, and successful citizens of the community,” he said. “The opportunity for so many young men and women to continue their education, as well as being able to use their athletic ability to receive a scholarship to continue on the road to graduate from college, is what Lewis and Clark means to me.”
“The College does an outstanding job providing quality educators in a first-class setting, which is essential for learning and success in the classroom.”
