Christian Cuba

Louisburg College is thrilled to announce the hiring of Christian Cuba as the new head coach of the women's soccer team. With over 20 years of coaching experience, Cuba brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field.

A native of Staten Island, New York, Cuba has built a diverse coaching portfolio, guiding teams at various levels, including high school, college, and youth programs. His coaching philosophy centers on using soccer as a vehicle for personal growth, character development, and the cultivation of a nurturing team environment. "My goal is to help players experience life through soccer while fostering traits that lead to success in all areas," Cuba stated.

Cuba most recently served as the varsity coach for the Heritage High School girls soccer team in Wake Forest, North Carolina, where he successfully created a strong sense of community and achievement. Under his leadership, the team thrived, showcasing not only their athletic skills but also their commitment to teamwork and mutual support.

Prior to Heritage, he was the head coach for the girls soccer team at Thales Academy, where he earned the distinction of Coach of the Year. His experience extends to the collegiate level, having coached at institutions such as Saint Francis College and the College of Staten Island, where he honed his ability to balance academics and athletics for student-athletes.

Cuba's credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Saint Peter's University and numerous coaching licenses, including the USSF National D License and NSCAA National License. His dedication to coaching is further complemented by his fluency in both English and Spanish, allowing him to connect with a diverse group of players.

Throughout his career, Cuba has been committed to not only developing skilled soccer players but also instilling important life lessons. He has consistently emphasized the importance of character, teamwork, and perseverance, which he believes are essential for success both on the field and beyond.

"We are excited to have Christian join our team," said Athletic Director Mike Holloman. "His extensive experience, coaching philosophy, and dedication to developing student-athletes align perfectly with our mission at Louisburg College."

As he steps into his new role, Cuba looks forward to building a competitive and inclusive program that empowers young women through the beautiful game of soccer.
