Logan Fye

Logan Fye is entering his second season as Madison College head men's soccer coach after being hired in April 2023, and his first season as Madison College head women's soccer coach after being hired full-time in March 2024. Fye became the ninth head coach in program history for the men, while becoming the third women's coach and the first coach to lead both programs simultaneously. Additionally, Fye will serve as the intramural coordinator and a Physical Education instruction starting in the 2024-25 academic year.


Fye led the WolfPack men to a 6-5-4 record in his first year at the helm, narrowly missing out on the NJCAA Region 4 Division II Tournament.


Fye's coaching experience has consisted of spending the past ten seasons with NCAA Division III Wisconsin Lutheran College, and worked his way up from graduate assistant to associate head coach of the men's program since 2016. In that role, Fye was an integral part of the team's recruiting, off-season workouts and training, soccer camps, and social media. While working with the Warriors, Fye also served in several coaching and administrative roles for Elmbrook United out of Brookfield, Wisconsin starting in 2017, which included being the designated coach for high school aged elite select teams. And since 2018, he has also been the Olympic Development Team coach and staff coach with the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association. Fye spent four year working in various capacities with the Elm Grove Soccer Club starting in 2013.


Fye currently holds a USSF National "C" License, as well as USC Goalkeeping Level 1 & 2 Diplomas, USC Professional Development Certificate (Advanced Youth Coach), and USC Special Topics Diploma (The Art of the Assistant).


In addition to coaching, Fye boasts a standout playing career, which includes playing professionally for the Milwaukee Torrent of the National Premier Soccer League in 2015. The center midfielder spent four years on pitch at NCAA Division III UW-Whitewater, leading the Warhawks to three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Atlhetic Conference (WIAC) championships and subsequent appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Fye was named the 2012 WIAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year and was a three time WIAC All-Conference and All-Wisconsin State Team selection after tallying 17 goals and nine assists for his career. He graduated from UW-Whitewater with a Business Management degree, and went on to earn a Master's Degree in Education-Leadership & Innovation at WLC.


A Rockford, Illinois, native, Fye won a 2008 IHSA State Championship and was a three-time all-conference recipient at Winnebago High School. He finished his varsity career with 56 goals and 57 assists.


Fye enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and being anywhere near a soccer field in his free time. He and his wife, Emily, have a six-year-old daughter, Josie.

Alex Alvarado

Alexander Alvarado is entering his second season as an assistant men's soccer coach at Madison College since being hired in June 2023. He was promoted to associate head men's soccer coach prior to the 2024 season. In 2024, he also joined the women's soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach.


Alvarado has spent the past year coaching U16-U19 teams as an assistant with the Madison 56ers. He helped teams win two Wisconsin State Cups and qualify for two Midwest Regionals and USYS National Championships.


Alvarado played prep soccer at Madison West High School and helped the Regents to the WIAA Division 1 State Boys Soccer Tournament in 2017 and 2015. He was a four-time all-conference selection in the Big Eight Conference and a four-time all-area pick by the Wisconsin State Journal. Alvarado played club soccer for the Madison 56ers and was a two-time Wisconsin State Cup champion and ODP Regional Camp invitee.


Alvarado has continued his academic career at Columbia College in Chicago and at Madison College with a focus on Business and Music Business.


The native of Mexico currently resides in Madison, Wisconsin.

Austin Backus

Austin Backus is entering his second season as assistant men's soccer coach for the WolfPack after being hired in June 2023, while also becoming the associate head women's soccer coach prior to the 2024 season.


Backus comes to Madison College having coached soccer with several different organizations and levels over the past three years. From 2021 to 2023, he was a men's and women's assistant coach for the Milwaukee Torrent, winning the 2021 Great Lakes Conference title and the 2021 NISA Independent Cup Championship, and also served as the director of coaching for Rush Elkhorn.


Backus has been a high school assistant coach with the boys program at Elkhorn Area High School from 2020 to 2022, as well as the girls program at Catholic Memorial High School from 2021 to 2023. He helped the Elks claim three consecutive Southern Lakes Conference championships and WIAA Division 1 Regional titles, with the 2020 team advancing to the WIAA Division 1 State Tournament. With the Crusaders, Backus helped the program win two regional championships.


As a prep player, Backus was a four-year participant and four-time letter winner in soccer at Watertown High School as a goalkeeper. He went on to study Kinesiology at UW-Whitewater and earned his bachelor's degree in 2022.


He currently resides in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
