Vincent Gill

Head Coach Vinny Gill is entering his 16th season at Middle Georgia State University. Gill now coaches the women's program only but spent his first 6 years as coach of both the men and women. Coach Gill was the GCAA women's Coach of the Year in 2007 and men's Coach of the Year in 2010. Coach Gill was named the SSAC Coach of the Year for the 2020-21 season and has led his team to back-to-back NAIA Opening Round selections in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.


Originally from Ireland, Gill has spent time coaching in the NAIA and NJCAA with different schools and spent one year coaching professionally with the Jacksonville Cyclones. Gill's women's team won the 2009 GCAA Conference Championship and men's team was runner-up in 2010. His women's teams have reached the GCAA semi-finals 6 of 7 seasons. His men's team have made the semi-finals 5 out of 7 seasons. Neither team has missed the playoffs since Coach Gill took over.


Coach Gill is married and has 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

Johnathan Barragan

Johnathan Javier Barragan was hired as assistant coach in March of 2022. He returns to MGA after serving as an assistant coach for Point University Men's Soccer and volunteer assistant for Mercer University Men's Soccer, where they were Southern Conference Champions. Barragan has also coached at Mount de Sales Academy, Stratford Academy, Macon Soccer Club, and Rutland High School.


Barragan joined the Knights as a walk-on in 2016 and was a student-athlete for three years. He was tied for top goal scorer in his first season and captained the team his junior and senior season.


Barragan graduated from MGA with a Bachelor's in Psychology and earned his Master's in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy. He holds a USSF C license and a Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma.
