Dani Gunderson

Dani Gunderson serves as head women's soccer coach and senior women's administrator (SWA) at Muskingum University. She was named SWA in May of 2022.


During the 2021 campaign, Gunderson coached two All-OAC student athletes for their outstanding play, while also having five players earn academic All-OAC Honors and three named to the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association Academic team for their efforts in the classroom.


Gunderson arrives at Muskingum after a highly successful four-year stint as an assistant coach at Denison University. Throughout her tenure with the Big Red, Denison won one North Coast Athletic Conference Championship, one NCAC Tournament title, and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament. During Gunderson's time with the Big Red, Denison amassed 38 overall wins and logged an impressive 20-6-6 mark in conference play. She coached 24 All-NCAA student-athletes, five all-region players, three NCAC Players of the Year, and one All-America and All-America Scholar-Athlete.


Gunderson came to Denison after one season as an assistant coach at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland. In 2015 at Frostburg, the Bobcats went 10-7-3 and were 6-1-2 in Capital Athletic Conference play. She coached four All-CAC players and one all-region selection. Before coaching at Frostburg State, Gunderson spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.


A 2013 graduate of Christopher Newport University with a bachelor's in psychology, Gunderson began her college career at Division I Radford University, where she played 14 games and helped the Highlanders to the Big South Conference Tournament semifinals.


Prior to her sophomore season, Gunderson transferred to Division III Christopher Newport where she finished her college playing career. While at CNU, Gunderson helped the Captains reach three USA South Conference Tournament finals. In 2010, her squad won the conference regular season and tournament title and the following year the Captains won a USA South regular-season championship.


Gunderson was a three-time All-USA South selection. As a senior, she was a first-team all-conference pick and an NSCAA All-South Region selection after scoring 14 goals and six assists. She was also a first-team VaSID College Division All-State team honoree.


Furthermore, Gunderson played two seasons for the W-League's Virginia Beach Piranhas, one season as a player/assistant coach for the WPSL's Virginia Beach City FC, and is currently a member of the Columbus Eagles semi-pro team.

Megan Jensen

Megan Jensen was named Assistant Coach of the Muskingum Women's Soccer team during the summer of 2021.


Jensen, a three-year letterwinner of the North Central College women’s soccer team, brings leadership and strong dedication to New Concord. She played in 34 career games and helped anchor the Cardinal backline en route to helping guide the team to 24 wins and a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament appearance.


Additionally, Jensen served as a volunteer coach for the Chicago Eagles soccer club, where she empowered young women to play soccer while improving their communication and leadership skills. She also served as a coach for the Carthage College soccer camp where she organized practice and workout plans for campers. Furthermore, Jensen coached for Elite S.C., instructing fundamental skills and building strong relationships with her players.


Jensen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from North Central in 2021.

William Hess

William Hess is in his fourth year as an assistant coach at Muskingum University.


Hess, a 2015 graduate of Muskingum University, was a four-year letterwinner and team captain as the Muskingum's starting goalkeeper.


He currently serves as the varsity boys soccer coach at John Glenn High School and is entering his first year as an assistant coach for the Muskingum men's soccer program.


Hess graduated from Muskingum with a B.A. in Business and Marketing.
