Mike Regan

Mike Regan (REE-gan) has returned the NDSU soccer program to the top of the Summit League after guiding North Dakota State to the 2024 Summit League Regular Season Championship in his seventh season at the helm of the Bison. Regan led the program to the biggest turnaround in Summit League history and garnered Summit League Coach of the Year honors, as well as guiding six Bison to all-league accolades and three Player of the Year awards in 2024.

Regan was named the fifth head coach in NDSU program history on Jan. 19, 2018 and made an immediate splash in Fargo as he guided the Bison to a spot in The Summit League Championship Semifinals in his first year at the helm, and has continued to develop the program with multiple trips into the postseason tournament and semifinal appearances, before a title winning season in 2024.

The Bison have had 14 All-Summit League selections in Regan's tenure, including eight first team selections. NDSU has also had seven All-Summit League Freshman Team/All-Newcomer Team selections and five Summit League All-Tournament Team picks under Regan.

Monica Polgar (2019), Paige Goaley (2022) and Morgan Russmann (2024) have been named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region Team in the Regan era. His tutelage also helped to guide Abby Wilkinson (2023) and Payton Mulberry (2024) to back-to-back Summit League Goalkeeper of the Year accolades, while freshman Morgan Russmann became the first player in Summit League history to win the Summit League Offensive Player of the Year award, also claiming Summit League Newcomer of the Year in 2024. Wilkinson also became the first Bison in program history to sign a professional contract.

Regan came to NDSU after two seasons as a Big Ten assistant coach at Indiana University in Bloomington. Prior to Indiana, he was an assistant coach at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, for four seasons, where he was part of the 2015 Missouri Valley Conference championship team and the 2015 MVC Coaching Staff of the Year. Drake made four consecutive MVC tournament appearances.

At Drake, he coached 22 all-conference team members, seven MVC All-Tournament Team selections, two NSCAA all-region picks, in addition to a MVC Player of the Year, a MVC Defensive Player of the Year and 2014 Haitian National Team member Generve Charles. Drake earned three NSCAA College Team Academic Awards, posted the highest GPA in the athletic department in the spring of 2013 and had a pair of MVC Scholar-Athlete selections during Regan's tenure.

Before joining Drake, Regan was the head coach for the North Iowa Area Community College men's soccer team for five seasons, where he posted an impressive record of 74-17-6 and was named the NJCAA/ICCAC Men's Soccer Coach of the Year three times. In his five seasons as the head coach, Regan coached four NJCAA All-Americans, 41 all-region honorees and 35 NJCAA All-Academic selections.

Regan also has extensive coaching experience at the youth level. He is currently a staff coach with the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Girls Olympic Development Program and served as the head coach of the Iowa ODP '98 age group for three years. Regan holds a National 'A' Coaching License from the United States Soccer Federation.

Regan earned a bachelor's degree from Waldorf College in 2009 and a master's degree from California University of Pennsylvania in 2011.

In her first season in Fargo, St. Aubin aided in the development of the Summit League Offensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year, freshman Morgan Russmann, as well as six all-league selections, the most for NDSU in nearly a decade.

St. Aubin came to NDSU from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, where she spent last two seasons and helped guide the Eagles to back-to-back WIAC regular season and tournament championships, as well as trips to the NCAA third round and quarterfinals.

In her two seasons at UWL, St. Aubin was instrumental in the development with the program, as the Eagles combined to go 41-3-3 for the best two seasons in the program’s history. UWL went 21-2-1 in 2022 and 20-1-2 last season, an improvement from 12 and 16-win campaigns in the previous two seasons.

St. Aubin helped earn UWL United Soccer Coaches Region Staff of the Year back-to-back seasons. She helped develop a pair of All-Americans each of the last two seasons, with two different Eagles receiving first team selections. The Eagles also had a school record five all-region selections both years and a school record nine All-WIAC honorees this fall. Her development and guidance also saw three different Eagles earn Scholar All-America honors the last two seasons, including the National Scholar Player of the Year this season.

Prior to her time in La Crosse, St. Aubin spent two seasons at Frostburg State in Maryland, where she also helped the Bobcats climb to their best two seasons in the NCAA Division II era at the time and was recognized by the United Soccer Coaches as a Top 30 Under 30 up and coming coach. St. Aubin helped improve the Bobcats from a 6-11-1 record in 2019 prior to her arrival, to a 6-1-2 mark in the shortened 2020 season, before FSU went 12-6-2 in 2021. The Bobcats made their first two postseason appearances in the Div. II era in those two seasons.

A Twin Cities area native from Burnsville, St. Aubin was a four-year starter and a United Soccer Coaches three-time All-America selection (2017-19) at Augsburg University, where she ended her career with 71 goals, 29 assists, and 173 points. St. Aubin was named the 2017 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year and is the MIAC’s all-time leader in goals, while being tied for the all-time lead in points.

St. Aubin has family ties to North Dakota State, as her grandfather, Tom St. Aubin, was a three-year varsity letterwinner and starting offensive guard for the Bison football team, helping the program to back-to-back NCAA National Championships in 1968 and 1969.

St. Aubin graduated Cum Laude from Augsburg University in May 2020 with her bachelor's degree in mathematics, while minoring in business administration and economics. She earned her master's degree in park, recreation and sport management from Frostburg State in May 2022.

Chris Higgins

Chris Higgins wrapped up his third season with the NDSU soccer coaching staff in 2024, helping the Bison to the Summit League Regular Season Championship during the 2024 season.

Higgins was named associate head coach for NDSU soccer on April 17, 2024 after two seasons as an assistant coach. Higgins joined Mike Regan's coaching staff in May of 2022. A former All-American between the sticks, Higgins works primarily with the goalkeepers.

The Glasgow, Scotland native has been instrumental in the development of the goalkeeping unit at NDSU, including the crafting of back-to-back Summit League Goalkeeper of the Year winners, with Abby Wilkinson winning the award in 2023 and Payton Mulberry winning the award in 2024.

The goalkeeping unit recorded eight cleansheets in 2024, the most since 2016, including three in a row with three different keepers. NDSU has recorded 21 cleansheets in three seasons under Higgins, after inheriting a unit that had just five cleansheets the previous two years. In 2023, Wilkinson continued to improve with a goals against average of 1.06 and a 81.6 save percentage, which helped her receive top Summit League honors between the sticks with first team accolades to go along with Goalkeeper of the Year honors.
