Ryan Huber

Under the leadership of eight-year head coach Ryan Huber, William Peace has established itself as a men’s soccer force in the USA South Conference.


The Pacers have posted three straight double-win seasons, including last year’s 10-5-3 mark. The three-year streak is a first for the men’s soccer program, which started at WPU in 2013. Huber is the winningest men’s soccer coach with 61 victories heading into the 2024 season.


The Pacers have posted a winning record in six of the seven seasons that Huber has coached at WPU. In 2022, they recorded a season-best 12-2-1 mark with the 12 wins setting a program record. That year, the Pacers captured the USA South Eastern Division Title which was the first championship for a WPU men’s sports program.


The men’s soccer program took off after a losing record in Huber’s first year. He has led the Pacers to a 56-25-17 mark in the last six seasons, including a 29-19-8 record in the USA South. The Pacers finished no lower than third in the East Division from 2018 to 2021 (counting the 2021 spring season) before divisions were eliminated in the USA South.


Under Huber, the Pacers played in the finals of the USA South East Division Tournament (Spring Season 2021) and the USA South Conference Tournament (2022). The Pacers have appeared in the USA South semifinals the last three seasons.


Huber has coached one USA South Player of the Year, two USA South Rookies of the Year and two USA South Goalies of the Year. He was named conference coach of the year in 2018. The Pacers have received 21 all-conference selections, 15 all-division picks, one USA South honorable mention selections and seven United Soccer Coaches All-Region selections.


Huber is an experienced coach who has worked at several high profile soccer camps including N.C. Wesleyan College, University of South Carolina, University of North Carolina, Duke University, Wake Forest University, Hampden Sydney College, Randolph Macon College, Mary Washington University, Louisburg College, University of Mount Olive, and Capital Area Soccer League.


Prior to coaching at WPU, Huber was the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at N.C. Wesleyan College from 2011-2016. He served as the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, Goalkeeper Coach, and Head Reserve Team Coach during his time at N.C. Wesleyan. The NCWC men's soccer program finished in the top four in the conference five out of six years that Huber was on the coaching staff.


Along with coaching at N.C. Wesleyan, Huber worked at the Tar River Youth Soccer Association as Director of Coaching (2016), Assistant Director of Coaching (2015-2016), U-13 Boys Head Coach (2016), U-12 Boys Head Coach (2015-2016) and U-14 Boys Head Coach (2015). At Tar River, Huber was responsible for the overall development of the club including: staff recruitment, staff development, coaching philosophy, playing philosophy, player recruitment and player development.


Before coaching at N.C. Wesleyan, Huber was the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Louisburg College from 2008-2011. During his time at Louisburg, the team was ranked as high as No. 4 in the nation for junior colleges. Prior to Louisburg, Huber spent one season on the sidelines as an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Guilford College in 2008 where he also started a club soccer program at the college.


Coach Huber obtained his Bachelor of Science in Sport Management in 2008 and later on went on to earn his Master’s in Sports Management and Athletic Administration from Liberty University in 2014.

Ozzy Peralta

Coach Peralta enters his eighth year as assistant coach for the Pacers, including his third as Associate Head Coach.


Peralta graduated from William Peace University in 2017 with a B.S. in Business Administration, and was a member of the WPU men's soccer program from 2015-2017. Coach Peralta served as Associate Head Coach at Louisburg High School for two seasons from 2013-2014 prior to coaching at William Peace. He was named Associate Head Men's Soccer Coach at WPU in the fall of 2022.


Coach Peralta has coached at several soccer camps including Mt. Olive, Top Drawer Soccer, N.C. State University, Duke University, UNC Greensboro and various camps in Louisburg, N.C. In addition to his role at WPU, Coach Peralta coaches North Carolina FC youth soccer at the ECNL Regional League (RL) level. In 2022, he led his 03/04 Elite team to both the ECNL RL Regular Season Championship and the ECNL RL Carolinas Cup Tournament Championship.


In 2023, Peralta led his 04/05 Elite Team to the ECNL RL Southeast Regional Championship. In 2024, he directed his team to the ECNL RL U17 Boys Regular Season Championship.


Peralta recently completed his second year as assistant coach on the NCFC United Soccer League (USL) 2 U23 Team. He is also an assistant coach with the NCFC Youth Academy.


During Peralta's time as WPU coach, the Pacers gained their first All-Conference selection (2017) in addition to making their first USA South Conference Tournament appearance (2018). A Pacers player won USA South Rookie of the Year for the first time (2018) and WPU advanced to the league's East Division Title Game for the first time (Spring 2021). A WPU Player was selected USA South Goalkeeper of the Year for the first time (2021) and the Pacers captured their first regular season title in program history (Fall 2021). It was also the school's first championship for a men's sports program.


The Pacers advanced to their first USA South Tournament Championship Game in 2022.


Peralta helped direct the Pacers to the most regular season wins (12) in program history (2021). That season, a Pacers player won the program's first USA South Goalkeeper of the Year Award (Fall 2021) and three players received the first All-Region selections in program history (Fall 2021). In 2022, the Pacers swept top individual conference honors, winning USA South Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year.


Peralta was the Interim Head Women's Soccer Coach in the Fall of 2021, where he led the program to its first ever win over crosstown rival Meredith College. He coached two All-Conference selections.


Peralta was hired as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in 2017, and in the fall of 2019 he was promoted to the position of Director of Athletic Communications. He was named Associate Head Men's Soccer Coach in 2022.
