Anthony Gehman

Anthony Gehman is set to begin his second year as Penn State Harrisburg men’s soccer head coach in 2023.

During his first season at the helm in 2022, Gehman led Penn State Harrisburg to its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance and third consecutive conference championship. The Lions finished undefeated in conference play (6-0-2) and defeated top-seeded St. Mary's (Md.) in penalty kicks in the United East Championship Game. Penn State Harrisburg ranked sixth in the nation in scoring offense, seventh in the country in total goals, ninth in Division III in points per game, and 10th in the nation in total points. Under Gehman's guidance, Kobe Harris (second team) and Luke Myers (third team) earned United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-Region honors, while the pair was joined by teammates Daniel Fombu, Jon Gartley, and Daniel Rossiter as United East All-Conference selections.

As an assistant coach in 2021, Gehman helped lead the Lions to the most successful season in program history. As Penn State Harrisburg’s top assistant and recruiting coordinator, he helped guide the Blue & White to the NCAA Tournament, a United East Championship, and a national ranking in 2021. During his time working alongside former head coach Daniel J. Krzyzanowicz, Gehman was integral to the team’s success, which included a program-record 15-2-1 mark and memorable victories over No. 2 Messiah and No. 3 St. Mary’s (Md.) last fall. During Gehman's first season in Middletown, Penn State Harrisburg players earned three United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-Region honors, swept the United East year-end major awards, and racked up seven all-conference first-team accolades.

Gehman joined the Penn State Harrisburg staff prior to the 2021 campaign after a stint as an assistant coach at Division I Virginia Military Institute (VMI). In addition to his on-field responsibilities, he was heavily involved in player development, recruiting, and program operations. While there, Gehman helped secure the highest-rated recruiting class in program history.

He has also become a familiar face at the club level, as he has coached multiple age groups for the State College Celtics, VBR Star Soccer Club, and Rockbridge United Youth Academy.

Gehman also serves as Penn State Harrisburg's game day manager during the spring season. He played his collegiate soccer at nearby Lancaster Bible College. While at LBC, Gehman twice served as team captain and helped lead the Chargers to a pair of conference championship game appearances. He graduated from Lancaster Bible with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Youth and Young Adult Ministry.
