Steve Linamen

Steven Linamen enters his fourth year as head women's soccer coach at Polk State College.


The first three years under the direction of Coach Linamen saw the team continue to excel on and off the pitch. The Eagles have received numerous NSCAA ethics and academics awards. In addition, 13 players earned First Team All-Region honors while 12 players were named to the Second Team All-Region team under his direction.


Additionally, Polk State’s program has received FCSAA, and NJCAA awards of excellence, including the NJCAA Pinnacle Award in academics. More than 30 athletes have received accolades for Academic All-State team. The Eagle women’s soccer program routinely completes 1,000 hours a season of giving back to its community through service projects and volunteer work.


For the past decade Linamen has coached at all levels in Central Florida, from the youth competitive clubs, high school to the college ranks as an assistant coach at Warner University and Southeastern University before taking the head coaching position at Polk State.


He served the youth of Polk County through various camps. He founded and directed PC United in 2010 with the idea of offering local female soccer players a chance to focus on technical abilities in addition to strength and conditioning.


Linamen holds numerous soccer certifications, diplomas, and licenses in addition to a Master’s in Athletic Administration from Ohio University. He and his wife of 25 years, Cindy, live in Auburndale with their two children, Mia, 11 and Briley, 20.

I have used the Soccer in College site for 8 years, and it has helped me keep my personal and soccer information up to date, and has helped be track college contacts and interest. I think the site helped me prepare for college offers, and helped me determine that I wanted to play for UNC.
