Shaw has also been instrumental in the development of midfielder Kaoru Hayashi, who was tabbed to the 2021 All-Horizon League Second Team as well as the 2021 United Soccer North Region Third Team, and rookie Emily Rocco, who earned a spot on the 2021 All-Horizon League Freshman Team.

UNLV claimed its first conference championship and NCAA Tournament berth since 2007, had a 12-match unbeaten streak during the year, the longest in program history, and also established school records for points (152), goals (51) and assists (50).

Prior to being named head coach at UNLV, Shaw spent the 2013 season as the head coach at Barton College in Wilson, N.C. The Bulldogs posted an overall record of 14-5-1 (.725), and Shaw was selected as the 2013 Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year.

While leading the Trojans, Shaw orchestrated the greatest turn around in NCAA Division II history, as UMO went from 3-15 (.167) in 2003 to 20-3 (.870) in 2004. Named the 2004 Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year, the Trojans produced the highest scoring offense in NCAA Division II.

Overall in 14 years as a head coach, Shaw has posted a record of 139-105-13 (.567). Shaw also spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Fresno State University (2007-09) as well four years as associate head coach at North Carolina State (2009-12).

Brianna Murgi

Brianna Murgi was named assistant coach for the Colonials in June of 2022.

"I'm excited for Bri to be joining the coaching staff," RMU head coach Chris Shaw said. "She is both enthusiastic and hard-working and will be a great asset to both the RMU women's soccer program and the University."

Murgi, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., joined RMU after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. In her two seasons in New Wilmington, Pa., the Titans posted an overall record of 22-5-2 (.793). Murgi assisted in recruiting 17 student-athletes to the program, including forward Brooke Horvath, who was named the 2021 PAC Newcomer of the Year. Westminster claimed the 2021 PAC regular-season championship with a perfect 9-0 mark and overall last season finished 16-3-1 (.825) while earning a bid to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament.

"I'm incredibly thankful for the opportunity to coach women's soccer at RMU in my hometown of Pittsburgh," Murgi said. "I would like to thank Coach Shaw for having me join the coaching staff, as I know that I will learn a lot from him that will help me improve my coaching abilities. I'm looking forward to continuing my collegiate coaching career at a university that values a positive student-athlete experience."

A four-year starter at Wheeling Jesuit University from 2016-19, Murgi started all but three games during her career with the Cardinals. She logged over 5,600 minutes on the backline and was named captain her junior season in 2018. She has also served as assistant coach for the Century United Women's Premier Soccer League Team since January of 2021. During her prep career, Murgi won a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Class AAA state championship in 2015 with Upper St. Clair after finishing as a Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) finalist and earning all-section honors.

I have had a profile on SINC Soccer for 4 years, and it helped me to organize my information so that I was ready when the recruiting process started. I had selected some schools using your site when I was 13 and that helped to start the conversation with those schools and find out about their ID camps, and when UNC made an offer I was prepared.
