Alicia Schuck

Coach Alicia (Milyak) Schuck) has led the Tars to NCAA Tournament berths in eight of her twelve seasons as head coach, including a run to the NCAA National Championship Final in 2014. The Tars have won three Sunshine State Conference titles under her tutelage, and she has been awarded NSCAA South Region Coach of the Year, SSC Coach of the Year, and the prestigious NSCAA National Coach of the Year.


Coach Schuck has a deep commitment to player development both on the field and in the classroom. Under her guidance, 14 players have earned All-American honors, 78 have been honored as All-Region, and countless have captured All-Conference honors. She has also coached seven players who garnered Academic All-American honors, with her team consistently records one of the highest GPAs on campus. Coach Schuck’s teams have been perennially ranked in the National Polls and remarkably Rollins Women’s Soccer was ranked No. 1 in the country is 2015 and ended the season at the No. 2 spot in 2014, after their run deep into the National Tournament.


Accolades aside, Coach Schuck is a player’s coach. She takes pride in developing her players strengths, learning about their motivators, and helping them pursue their playing and professional goals. Her coaching philosophy and team culture stems from her playing background which centers around a competitive team environment.


The first true superstar of Rollins women's soccer, when the program was in its infancy, Schuck remains the all-time leader in goals scored, with 51, and points, with 121. Schuck looks to use her experience as a player and local youth coach to motivate the current Rollins players to perform to the best of their ability.


During her freshman season at Rollins, Schuck notched a team leading 29 points (12 goals, five assists). As a sophomore, she finished with 20 points and was named to the All-Sunshine State Conference second team. In 2000, she set Rollins records in goals scored in a season (21) and points in a season (48), and was recognized with All-SSC first team honors. She completed her career in 2001 with 10 goals and four assists for 24 points, as well as earning second team All-SSC and first team All-South Region honors. Along with being a standout player, Schuck was an outstanding student, earning membership on the 2001 Verizon Academic All-District Team.


After Rollins she played in the W-League for the Seattle Sounders, Florida Krush, Cocoa Expos and appeared twice in the National Championship games with the Sounders and Florida Krush. Her playing experience also took her overseas to Australia and Iceland.


In 2008, Schuck became the first Rollins women's soccer player inducted into the Sunshine State Conference Hall of Fame.


She married former Rollins standout soccer player and current Vice President of Spectrum Sports Performance Dan Schuck in July, 2011 and currently lives in the Orlando area with her husband and children, Logan and Ellie.

Katie Nimitz

Assistant Coach Katie Nimitz is entering her first season at Rollins College in 2023, where her primary duties will be the training, development, and mentorship of the program's goalkeepers. Nimitz brings extensive experience in defending and goalkeeping and has worked with various NCAA Division I and II programs.


Nimitz joins the program after her most recent stint as an assistant coach at Army West Point during the 2022 season.


In one season coaching at Army West Point, Nimitz helped the Black Knights improve almost every single defensive statistic. Under Nimitz's guidance during the 2022 season, the Black Knights allowed just 15 goals (26 in 2021), earned 10 shutouts (Two in 2021), increased the shutout percentage to 0.50 (0.11 in 2021), improved the goals against average to 0.75 (1.37 in 2021), and increased save percentage to 0.83 (0.74 in 2021). During this run the Black Knight's earned the Patriot League regular-season title and were Patriot League Tournament Runners Up. Nimitz coached several Black Knights that were recognized for their efforts on the field including two United Soccer Coaches All-Region team players, the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, and six All-Patriot League team players. Sophomore goalkeeper, Sage Strohman, received Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week recognition during the season and was one of the players named to an All-Patriot League team.


Prior to her time at Army West Point, Nimitz worked at the University of Florida during the 2021 season as a volunteer/goalkeeper coach. While with the Gators, she coached the program's keepers to a 0.71 save percentage and 96 saves (first in the SEC).


During the 2019 season, Nimitz was an assistant coach at Western Kentucky University. Nimitz led the goalkeepers to seven shutouts and a save percentage of 0.78.


Prior to her stint with the Hilltoppers, Nimitz spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons as Quincy University's graduate assistant coach. During the 2017 season, the Hawks finished 17-4-1, won the Great Lakes Valley Conference regular-season title, were the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Runners Up, earned 13 shutouts, and allowed just 17 goals. Quincy advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament Round of 16 and finished No. 11 in the country in the final poll of the 2017 season. Nimitz coached numerous individuals that earned recognition including two All-American players, four All-Region team players, and six All-GLVC team players. Nimitz was a part of the coaching staff at Quincy that earned 2017 NCAA Division II Regional Coaching Staff of the Year recognition from the United Soccer Coaches Association.


Nimitz holds a United Soccer Coaches Association Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma and USSF "D" license. She received her bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2017 and a master's in educational leadership from Quincy University in 2019. Nimitz is also the Vice President of Mentorship with MyJourney Technologies and the Director of MyJourney Soccer, a mobile app co-founded by Alex Morgan.

Laszlo van Straelen

Laszlo van Straelen joined the Women's Soccer coaching staff in February 2024.


Prior to his arrival at Rollins, van Straelen served as the assistant coach for women's soccer at D-III Sewanee dueing the 2023 season. At Sewanee, van Straelen was the lead in practice planning, spearheaded player evaluation and recuriting, and was essential in operations management.


The Tigers finished 14-2-4, winning the SAA regular season and tournament championships for the first time in school history. Sewanee played in the National Championship tournament for the first time, winning their opening round matchup with Hanover College, 2-0. Lazslo was part of a the SAA Coaching Staff of the Year alongside head coach Greg Cathell. The Tigers had ten players named All-SAA, four players named All-Region XI, and had the school's first All-American in over twenty years in Brianna Fee.


Prior to his time at Sewanee, Laszlo served as an assistant for the men's program at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. During his time, the Tigers were regionally ranked and received votes in the D-III Top 25. HSC had three all-conference players in 2022, and made the semi-finals of the ODAC Tournament.


Aside from his work at the collegiate level, van Straelen also served a shead coach for FC Richmond U14 Magic Classic and DCXI Juniors. During Fall 2021, he also served as head coach for the Maret Middle School boys team.


His playing days saw him compete collegiately at Guilford College where he was a four-year letterwinner as a midfielder and defender. During his time, the Quakers reached the ODAC conference championship game for the first time in school history. Laszlo represented men's soccer on the SAAC, was a member of the Equity in Athletics committee, and a two-time ODAC All-Academic selection.


In 2020, he played abroad for A.V.V. Zeeburgia 021 in the ONDER 21 COMPETITIE, a profesional U21 competition in the Netherlands.


Originally from Takoma PArk, Maryland, van Straelen graduated from Guilford College in 2021 with a degree in sports management. He holds a C coaching license with the United States Soccer Federation, and speaks advanced Spanish and conversational Dutch.
