Former North Carolina Wesleyan goalie, Christopher Higgins, joins the men's soccer staff as an assistant coach in 2019.
Higgins served as a graduate assistant coach at LaGrance College during the 2018 season. Higgins helped lead LaGrange to 10 wins, the second most wins in school history and doubling their win total from 2017.
At LaGrange, Higgins assisted heavily in the recruiting aspect of the program and with goalkeeper training.
Higgins has served as a goalkeeper coach privately, at Libery High School, N.C. Wesleyan ID and youth camps.
“I am incredibly excited to have Gary and Chris join the program this fall,” Head Coach Zach MacDougall said. “They both come from great soccer backgrounds and will be instrumental in the continued growth of the Shenandoah Men's Soccer Program. Between their playing and coaching experiences, they bring a wealth of knowledge that will benefit our players greatly. I could not have asked for two better people to join this program. We are very fortunate to have them moving forward.”
Higgins will serve in all aspects of the program for the Hornets.
