Tania Armellino

Tania Armellino, the 2022 CACC Women's Soccer Coach of the Year, recently completed her second season on the University of Bridgeport sidelines in 2023.


It has been a sensational two campaigns for Armellino and the Purple Knights as they have won back-to-back CACC Tournament Championships. Bridgeport has put together a stellar 23-11-10 record since Armellino was named the head coach.


Armellino’s first season in the Park City was particularly spectacular with the Purple Knights going 13-3-7 overall and winning the conference regular-season title with a 10-0-2 record and finishing the "double" with the CACC Championship Tournament crown. Bridgeport also ended 2022 on a school-record 19-match unbeaten streak, advancing to the NCAA Division II East Regional Semifinals.


This past year in 2023, the Purple Knights won the CACC Tournament as the No. 7 seed after going 5-5-1 in the conference. They subsequently earned the automatic bid into their second straight NCAA Tournament.


Armellino came in May of 2022 to UB after serving as the head women's soccer coach at the State University of New York (SUNY) Plattsburgh in Plattsburgh, New York.


Her record of accomplishment at Plattsburgh is outstanding. During her eight seasons as head coach, she led the Cardinals to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) tournament seven times, reaching the finals in 2017. She guided student-athletes to All-SUNYAC honors 31 times, coached two SUNYAC Players of the Year, and one SUNYAC Rookie of the Year. Armellino also coached eight student-athletes who earned United Soccer Coaches All-East Region honors.


Prior to becoming head coach at SUNY Plattsburgh, Armellino amassed significant experience as an assistant coach at Connecticut College (2011-2014), the University of Dayton (2008-2011), and Kenyon College (2006-2008).


An accomplished student-athlete in her own right, Armellino was a member of the Rutgers University women's soccer team from 1997-2000. While on the pitch for the NCAA Division I Scarlet Knights, Armellino served as team captain during her senior year. She also was a student coach.


Armellino earned her bachelor's degree in English with minors in Political Science and American Studies from Rutgers in 2001 before obtaining her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2005. She is admitted into the Connecticut Bar Association.

Frantzy Noze

Noze enters his first season as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at the University of Bridgeport. Prior to UB, he served as the Plattsburgh State Associate Head Women’s Soccer Coach for eight years under current UB head coach Tania Armellino. While at Plattsburgh, Noze helped build the team into one of the top programs in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). He helped lead the Cardinals to the SUNYAC tournament seven consecutive seasons (every active season at Plattsburgh), reaching the finals in 2017 and achieving two top-two finishes. He guided his players to All-SUNYAC honors 31 times, coached two SUNYAC Players of the Year, and one SUNYAC Rookie of the Year. Noze also coached his players to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region honors 13 times as well.


In 2011, Noze was the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Connecticut College. In that season, the Camels posted a 9-5-1 record, reached the quarterfinals of the NESCAC tournament, and achieved two all-conference honors.


Noze has previously coached for Southeast Soccer Club, Plattsburgh Football Club, and Nordic Soccer Club as well. He took on both boys and girls teams throughout his club coaching career and found tremendous success with all ages from u10-u18, both boys and girls. Noze was also the U23 CT State Soccer Association Head Men’s Coach and League Director as well. Currently, he is also a member of the full-time staff at Inter CT FC.


A Norwich, Connecticut native, he enjoyed a four-year playing career at Post University in Waterbury, where he was s a four-year starter in men’s soccer and a two-year letter winner in men’s tennis. Frantzy notched 13 career goals, 11 assists and 37 points including six goals and six assists as a sophomore when he helped the Eagles capture the CACC tournament championship for the first time in program history.

Chris Flaherty

Chris Flaherty enters his fourth season as the Purple Knights’ goalkeeper coach. Coach Flaherty was part of the coaching staff in a volunteer capacity in 2018, but upon capturing the program’s and school’s first ever NCAA National Championship he was elevated to goalkeeper coach and after the departure of Magnus Nilerud remained on head coach Tania Armellino's staff.


Coach Flaherty recently finished his Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Sport Management from Mitchell College in New London, CT.


Originally from Liverpool, England, Flaherty holds level 1 & 2 badges from the English Football Association and Advanced National Diploma from United Soccer Coaches. At Mitchell, Flaherty had a successful playing career and was team captain in two of his seasons. He also earned All National first and second team recognitions.


He currently coaches for CFC and with various town programs. He is the owner of Kickerz Soccer Coaching company and a Director for FC New England.


Flaherty and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Trumbull, Connecticut.


He also serves as an assistant coach for the UB men's soccer program.
