Josh Spencer

Josh Spencer begins his first year at the helm of West Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer in 2022.

A WVWC men's soccer alum, Coach Spencer was named the head coach of the Bobcats after completing a one-year stint as a volunteer assistant coach under the late Gavin Donaldson. Spencer was a four-year starter and a three-year captain for Donaldson during his playing career from 2014-2017, and led the 'Cats to a Mountain East Conference Championship in his senior season.

In his first year as a coach with the program, Spencer mentored three all-conference players (Charlie Naylor, Connor Hartwell and Nika Monasaledzie) and one all-freshman team player (Zacharias Kohring). Spencer assisted with creating practice plans and oversaw game management during the 2021 season.

Spencer was the assistant coach and camp director of Lionsbridge FC for the 2022 season. Spencer played a key role in coaching the team to their first Chesapeake Division crown in club history. Lionsbridge FC had an undefeated regular season (12-0-2) under Spencer's guidance. Spencer also has experience coaching at the youth level and was an assistant coach of Long Eaton United youth team in Nottingham, England.

The Nottingham, England native began his playing career in academy football for Derby County, Lincoln City and Boston United. After WVWC, Spencer signed with Lionsbridge FC and was the club's first signing for their inagural season in 2018. Spencer played semi-professionally in Europe between 2018-2021.

Spencer resides in Buckhannon and is married to his wife, Mary, who is a West Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer alum.

Holden Talton

Holden Talton was added to the West Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2022.

Talton's playing career began with the West Virginia United Soccer Club from 2007-2013. In high school, Talton was named First-Team OVAC his senior season in 2015 at University High School in Morgantown, W.Va. A four-year varsity starter, Talton's high school career was highlighted by a 2012 sectional championship. At WVWC, Talton was a member of the 2017 Mountain East Conference championship squad.

Most recently, Talton was the Director of Valley Futsal Club during the winter of 2022. The Morgantown native was Valley Soccer Junior Academy's Director from 2020-2022 and a coach for Valley Soccer Academy U10 and U12 girls' teams from 2019-2022.
